RE: One Bitcoin Club: How to Setup BTC Lightning Address with Wallet of Satoshi and v4v.app

Is it correct, that on the posts you do via onebitcoinclub.org 30% of the normal post rewards are so to say transferred to the lighting wallet, and 70% go to your Hive wallet as usual? So there are no additional rewards at all, right?

Sort:

30% is send to @btc4content. This account is the account that sends you liquid HBD to your lightning address where it arrives as lightning, which is normally worth about 1 HBD of lightning. The rest stay as normal rewards on your blog.

In case of a scenario where @btc4content is making more money than it is sending out (due to blogs on onbebitcoinclub.org getting on average more than 3 USD worth of value in upvotes each) then we will increase the amount of lightning being tipped to each blog.

If the amount of HBD being sold to tip with BTC becomes huge, due to large support and large amounts of content, it is not desired that Hive is simply used as a mechanism to exit to BTC. its important that the HBD set to tip as lightning is seen at worst as a cost of onboarding, and at no point should it be seen as an exploitation of the chain, and so we will always limit the amount that we send out to lightning so that it is not seen as exploitative to Hive. The great thing here is that we think Bitcoiners will use this and at the same time they will be earning staked HP and a stable coin ($HBD) that rivals the lightning network in its performance. so its really finding the balance that creates a win, win, win scenario!

In no case will there be a situation in which we earn from this.

We will soon roll out full lightning tipping (Zapps), 5% of that will go towards keeping the platform running and 5% will get changed into Hive and burned, or sent to DHF, not sure yet).

Thanks for your explanation. I agree that it needs to be avoided that Hivians use this in masses as quick exit to BTC, so this should be marketed rather outside of the Hive ecosystem.
From the 68 members so far, how many used an existing Hive name to register?
If the focus is on Hive newcomers, it is even more hard, they need keychain extension, the xverse wallet plus the wallet of Satoshi (or another Lighning address) - not very userfriendly I am afraid.

By the way, the cloning from Ecency is too obvious :)

https://breakaway.community/ has always been a clone of ecency, that's the whole point of open soruce, to itterate on it and make next itterations available to others to further iterate upon again.

@breakaway-dev is aware of the issues and is building them in. This is not a completed system yet, but its getting there.

Regards to user friendliness, if you can find another system with which to prove you have a bitcoin account and get a hive account with it, id be surprised, honestly - open to hear your suggestions and build them in if they improve on things for sure!. @good-karama is working with us to build out a similar sign up system for all major blockchains (i.e. you sig up once and get accounts for all major chains, but all associated with a hive social account).

I dont know the exact numbers but about 10 or so have attached an existing account, the rest have created new accounts. in all cases you have to sign to prove you have BTC.

No, I am not aware about a similar system.
Where do you market it? Where is the landing page?
https://onebitcoinclub.org/ is a bit laggy and leads to the 0,5 BTC tab with no content, so this URL is not ideal to market it.

BTW, I have 0,5BTC but 1) don´t trust yet the xverse wallet enough to
deposit that much and 2) there is nobody there.

Yes, OBC is super buggy and not finished. Always looking for help from ppl to help get it to the point where it is ready!

We plan to implement another wallet too that can be used for signing transactions. its called https://freewallet.org/

if you have any issues with dev stuff or issues with the site, pls contact @breakaway-dev. Im just the idiot who funds this stuff. I have no idea how to code and wish coders the best of luck getting the things i fund into a place where they can actually be used!

Yet another wallet? Instead of keychain?

u cant hold BTC in keychain. good luck getting a BTC social account without a BTC wallet

@starkerz can you answer, please
