the nice thing is that we are allowed to choose of what or from who we want to be close to.
I agree, freedom of choice is a very powerful tool and should be the right of all people. It's also wise to apply honesty to oneself and understand which people may be unhealthy (negative) to be around, no matter who they are because not distancing them could mean inhibiting one's own progression and life is too short to do that.
Every day I am more and more convinced that it is better to let go of ballast in time, because if we don't do it this way, life gets complicated or screwed up by people who are not really worth the trouble.
I agree with this completely. Have you found it difficult to let go of the dead weight? (The ballast, as you say it)
Thanks for commenting with your thoughts.
Of course I do, because I always tend to help, or try to, at least. And it turns out that I always get hurt, because no one changes for me, or my influence.
(This happens because those people need professional help, and I am not qualified).
(edit)
If we talk about negative situations that I can't let go of, well, also. Because I have not had the strength to decide to let go. Life is a learning process. I hope to become a better person every day, based on my happiness, because if I don't achieve it, how will I give happiness to others?
Ah ok, I figured. I guess, with those people who need the help, they need to do some of the work themselves, others cannot do it for them and if they're not willing to do so trying to help them often doesn't go well. Also, as you point out, sometimes professional help is what's really required.
Spoken like someone who is actively seeking a best-life scenario. Well said.
