I need to get to the point quick on this post as I have a 300 word limit, and I have to talk about the positives of my Hive journey. Both a tad bit difficult as I'm used to writing long posts, and tbh there isn't much to feel positive about recently. I feel like the positivity has been encapsulated in darkness.
No, I'm not talking about Hive tanking to 20c recently. I've experienced the ATH of $3.41, my heart didn't fly to the moon then, so there's no need to get upset now. That said, my wallet did look very impressive back then.
I've met many good friends over my 7 years on Hive, some in real life and some still virtual. I value each one of them because without them, my social circle wouldn't shine so bright. Some of these friends have drifted apart, some have become inactive and some have stated clearly they're leaving Hive. Pretty difficult to stay positive when you lose friends. I'm grateful for those many who are still on Hive and I can call friends.
I had a very good run being part of Pinmapple for 7 years, one of the best community on Hive. It's a privilege not open to many. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Then something happened, I can't pinpoint exactly what or when. The black cloud gradually appeared. I decide to call it quits, ending the best chapter of my Hive journey. It just felt like the right thing to do.
Maybe I'm just going through a phase in life where you want to pack it all in, but deep down you know everything is too valuable to let go completely. Maybe darkness shall pass, flowers shall bloom, and positivity shall return. Maybe Hive will moon.

Spring was your beginnings, summer the best years of Pinmaple, great friends and wonderful times.
The retirement of Pinmaple was the autumn, with leaves changing color, wilting and eventually falling off the tree that was the beauty of your hive experience.
Your feeling now is winter, which is full of cold, death and despair. The good thing about winter is that it does turn into spring and summer again eventually, the question is just when. The summer and good times lasted quite a while now we have to go through the cycle of death in order to feed the tree of life for rebirth.

It takes some time to get used to Hive because it is so different from traditional social media platforms. As long as you be genuine and be yourself, it is easy to build up your circle of friends. They are your long term supporters on Hive. Hive is as good as you want it to be

STOP7 years is quite impressive. It's normal that in seven years in the Hive, great things have happened, but also bitter things have happened. What we go through in 7 years in our lives! Price is not that important but better go up 😂😂
Just like life, there are ups and downs and we just be have to accept them all.

You say it's hard to be positive when you lose friends? But friends on Hive are there, maybe inactive, maybe they've given up, but they can come back at any time. They certainly haven't forgotten you, considering your engagement on Pinmapple.
Such is the life cycle of accounts on social networks. Some are logged out, others are logged in and so on in a circle 🙂
Virtual friends are a lot more difficult to keep than real life friends, many I 'know' quite well and know a lot about them through their post and conversation, but don't even know their name. But that's just a fact of virtual life and we have to accept our virtual friends could just disappear in the thin air
Life is cruel...
For this reason of "disappearing", both real life and virtual friends, we should constantly make new friends, expand the circle of people we know, and at every opportunity, make a virtual friend a real life friend.
Here at Hive, there is an event that enables such a transformation, the Hive meetup 🙂
I haven't had a chance to devirtualize a friend, but I've only been here for a year... So in the coming years I'll probably have such a chance.
It's been a pleasure getting to know you over the years and following your travels! I've also enjoyed the various communities you have started.

It must have been hard to leave Pinmapple, but it sure was harder to keep going if you felt a dark cloud take over something you used to enjoy.
I hope the darkness passes and of course, I hope Hive goes to the moon ;)
I'm sure the darkness will pass very soon, I can feel it starting. And yes, looks like the hive dip has at least finished
Hi livinguktaiwan, I first noticed you (well) from your pub guessing contests and from that I came to know your writings are also wonderful sometimes (maybe all times but I caught some of them). We say a quote in our Urdu language which means :
The evening of sorrow is long, but it's just an evening after all
The phase will pass, even some more beautiful phase of life will come. Just staying positive is the point ✨

Hive is...a different place now and I'm struggling to find people I connect with on anything more than in a cursory manner hence the reason my follow list is so small. I remember the good old days and while I understand that things progress I miss those days and a lot of those people. Enough said though.
It's always good to hear from one such person so I'm glad you entered.

Hive is a relatively small community at the end of the day, you stick around for long enough you'll get to know a lot of people 😀
It's nice to know that you're in Hive for a long time. 7 years is already an achievment.
This coming July 18, it will be my 2nd year in Hive. Just like you, I always feel up side down already, but whenever I feel like quitting, I always looking back how Hive saved me from my shortcomings in past 2 years of my life.
