RE: Is it time

in Reflectionslast year

A lot of people are oblivious to what's going on around the world, and a lot of them want to remain that way. As long as they are not affected, everything's good. Ignorance is bliss, as the saying goes. I think the world has been going to shit for a while now. It is one of the major reasons why I don't want to have kids. I don't want them to live in a hellhole when they grow up.

I think change is still possible, but it is going to take a lot of time and effort. A lot of the youth have been/are being brainwashed, and we need to improve education as a whole. A lot of the governments and financial systems need an overhaul. We need to have people that look out for the good of the many in important positions. And then we need to maintain that. Because it only takes one selfish, greedy person to take it all down again.

I concur, the head in the sand strategy feels safe and comfortable for some, the alternative of seeing the reality is often too confronting...that doesn't negate the fact the reality is there though.

You mention education and the government, I agree for sure...but surely some of the onus rests with the individual.

but surely some of the onus rests with the individual.

Oh, definitely. Some wrong teachings like "cats can fly" can be easily changed because of facts and truths. But there are some things that are difficult to adjust. Political views and religion are some of those things. Some of those are learned in school and at home. Some people are so brainwashed, and don't have the critical thinking to change.

Yep, politics and religion certainly have a lot to answer for.
