Namaste people,

I talked about physical health yesterday but I missed to discuss the most important parameter which is left unattainted by me, that is smoking.

BELIEFS
I started smoking from the year 2019, and I always knew from start that if this bad habit is accepted by me, It would be tough to quit as it's easily accessible and it's after effect never get indulged with regular schedule.
And eventually after 5 years I can surely say that, this is a bad addiction to get indulged into. I've been trying from 3 years to quit and to this day there's no progress.

CURRENT SITUATION
The mental situation is, I know I can quit and it's no big deal but the fact that cigarettes have nicotine in it and for a minute or two it relaxes the mind. I'm working in a sector where I've to make my mind work at a rapid speed and with all possible know solution for a defined problem, just like when you search on Google for a problem and Google gives all the possible solution in one search. Also it's a customer oriented job and you can never know in which mood the customer is coming and that does takes alot of strength to not respond in the same tone as the customer.

HISTORY
This started when I was in 3rd year of college and my father had recently passed, he dearly believed in the fact that one should always live their life to fullest and that does not included getting wasted but a teenage version included that as well. I'm a calculator and I always previously calculated every action and it's diverse effect, and all my calculation said no to smoking from start but on a vulnerable day I couldn't hold it back and too this day I regret the fact that, if or maybe I stayed strong that day I would not be in a horrible situation currently.

AFTER EFFECTS
Their is uncountable health hazard related to my smoking problem and on daily basis I've acidity, headaches, loosing diet, stomach ache, dental issue, loosing strength and comparatively weak.
Mental issue is, constant unfit to stay with any family member as they couldn't know about it and I can't live without it.
Financial loss is cigarette are not very expensive but yes, it does make me spend, a few bucks in air and I could be doing something more productive with it. Last year I calculated, I spent around 90k on cigarette and that's a pretty good sum to save or to spent on diet.

Anyways, I've given a thought about it and decided to quit smoking with the help of meditation and going out on treks and also hanging out with positive people meaning not with colleagues.

Fellow smoker here too, though i'm more of a pipe smoker than normal cigs.

Its good that you're recognising smoking can become a very bad habit for someone who's prone to being stressed.

I started smoking when i was 16, not heavily but quite often. Then it became smoking cigars at 18, then I became a pipe smoker in my late 20s.

What is it about the smoke, when the flame licks the cig and we take our first drag....what is it that keeps bringin us back? It's that space of peace we create for ourselves...

I would like to share two videos with you, one thats mine and one from a fellow pipe smoker who recites his own poem called "Smoke Rings From My Pipe".

If you must continue smoking, i wholesomely recommend pipe smoking. The difference with Pipe Smoking and Cig smoking is, we don't inhale the smoke into our lungs....the tobacco is all natural full of wonderful organic flavours and aromas (no chemicals), the nicotine hit is amazing even when you do not inhale...and smoking nicotine like this from a pure natural leaf is actually very beneficial for the lungs (this is contrary to what we learn from mainstream medical science, which is all filled with lies and deception).

Also a pipe smoke lasts between 15mins - 30mins average. If you smoke slow one bowl will last 1 hr.

Also one carries a peace of nature with them (the pipe) everywhere they smoke!

Yet i hope that you can find a way to quit smoking altogether. It's really a luxury and develops into a crutch that one cannot recover from, if you have not a strong will.

This world is full of darkness and deception. It's becoming an honourless world by the day. But you must continue to be the light. But to do that one must traverse the darkness and confront that darkness within ourselves. I know you've been there and have come out in one piece. Now get back into the darkness and punch those fucking demons in the mouth!
