RE: Looming Issues

“live your time and let others live theirs”….

Is there a limit on how much you can ignore to maintain this position? For instance, if you see a man beating a woman or a child in the street, do you let that woman or child "live their time" or would you do something about it?

Sort:

The aggressor is not complying with the precept of "live and let live", therefore a complaint should be made. Would you get involved in a couple's quarrel, would you get involved when a father is reprimanding his own son... Couples who quarrel end up settling their problems under the sheet...

Would you get involved in a couple's quarrel, would you get involved when a father is reprimanding his own son...

If they are crossing a line and inflicting harm, yes I would.

Couples who quarrel end up settling their problems under the sheet...

Do you mean like domestic violence rapes?

No, in my country saying “the couple solves their problems under the sheets” means that “that's their problem” and if you interfere “it's none of our business…”.

If they are crossing a line and inflicting harm, yes I would.
Many years ago I happened to pick up an injured person in the street and when I dropped him off at the emergency room of the health centre, the police detained me for more than two hours. Imagine if the person had died… After the event, it never occurred to me to do the same…
