Rediscovering my passion – connecting and growing with Hive

in Reflections6 months ago

Hive was introduced to me by my husband. We were looking for a place to share our passion for photography, and he discovered Hive. At first, I was very excited because we were finally sharing our love for photography with others. But then, when it was also presented as a way to make money, my interest faded quickly. I still posted occasionally, but I didn't want to use Hive just for photos. I started writing too, but because of my personal struggles, I had to stop.

Then, a while back, my health took a turn for the worse, and in my struggle, I rediscovered my passion. And once again, I found it on Hive. I had forgotten the sheer joy that writing brought me and the thrill of reading supportive comments from people who didn’t even know me but shared their positive energy. Hive isn't just about the numbers for me, it's about expanding my horizons, gaining knowledge, and connecting with people who share my interests.

There’s no better feeling than going to bed with an article forming in my head or waking up eager to choose my next adventure to share with you. Happiness, sadness, ups, and downs—how can I focus on the negative when I know there are others out there who feel the same and support each other?

Now I finally realize that this is it. I can share my love for photography, writing, and stories from the past. Hive is like my way of life, it's a vibrant community that encourages people to explore new things. I will always be grateful for this opportunity, and I hope many more people join us. We are awesome. Let's keep up the great work and continue this incredible journey together!

Thank you, @galenkp, for the opportunity with your quest to finally write about what Hive has brought into my life.

Thanks for sharing this, for taking the time to be involved.

It's amazing how people can connect, not everyone, but some...a comment comes in, a reply is made and things progress from there. I've made some good connections in that way on Hive and, oh yeah...happened with you. 😊

It's an easy way to find people with similar interests, which is why we post here. On other social media platforms, I mostly see photos and don't get to know the person behind them. But here, even if I don't know what someone looks like, I get to meet their personality. And like you said, through commenting we can meet a lot of interesting people ;)

Nicely said.

I love it too when you are going to bed and the thoughts are whirling over what to write and the ideas!

Yeah, legit...but how shite is it when you have an awesome post rolling around in the noggin and then something goes down at work and...forgotten, never to be remembered?

Not good, or as they say in Spanish...noto goodo.

I have experience the noto goodo do many bloody times man!!

I think we all have those experiences, and it can be really frustrating to see how much effort you put in without the desired results. But, it's also motivation to do better next time, maybe? I try not to dwell on it because we all know that some posts slip through the cracks while others succeed. So, look on the bright side? 😉I've still a lot to learn about some stuff here...

As they say in Spanish, looko on the brighto sideo. (My Spanish is so good, I know.)

This will stay in my head now, thank u ;)) maybe is easier in Slovenian language? Poglej na svetlo stran! ;)

Umm...that's supposed to be easier? 😂

No, definitely not easier, our language is quite challenging ;)) We not only use singular and plural forms but also the dual form, which is used specifically when referring to exactly two items or people. So, yeah, we've got freaking hard language to learn! ;)

Yes, and then I'm constantly grabbing my phone to write down my thoughts so I don't forget them until the next day. And then, in the morning, when I look at my notes, I'm like, hmm, did I really think of this? Not bad! ;))

Amazing to see you finding a way to create, write and share your passions!
I'll be honest, I'm a bit struggling to find the right way back to 'living life', having a mix of overdoing and doing nothing, while sometimes being active too much makes me stop physically, take few more meds and take a day completely off.

Kind of a side comment, but I am amazed that you found your way, your focus and joy while going day by day, not knowing what tomorrow will bring

Oh hey, look who's back! Welcome ;) I hope you're doing alright. I totally get you. I've been fighting for about 10 years now, trying to "live a life." There are still days when I just stay in bed all day. And you know what? That's totally okay. You've been through a lot, and you’re allowed to have bad days. It's impossible to be positive every single day. If anyone out there is happy all the time, excuse me sir, what are you taking? Because that's not possible! Finding the perfect balance between overdoing and doing nothing is tough, especially with meds in the mix. Meds definitely affect our mood. I still wonder sometimes what I’d be like if I weren’t taking them. But it's important to remember that we know where the problem is, and things will or must get better with time! Thank u for stopping by ;)

I think big people can look beyond the reward side of things and treat that as the secondary rather than primary motive on Hive, they can produce much better genuine content from the bottom of their heart instead of writing for rewards.

That's why I lost interest shortly after starting here. When I have to do what others want and write for likes, that's not me. I won't write about blockchain, even if that is or it was the main focus of Hive. When I write for myself, you can see my personality in my posts. If I'm writing just for money, I lose all interest. When I realized Hive isn't just about numbers, my interest came back. I just needed to see it from a different perspective. Now, it's like a journal for me. I'm dealing with a bit of memory loss, so if I forget something, I can just scroll down ;)

Glad that hive has given you a way to share your thoughts and develop yourself as you get older, but still gives you energy and excitement to put something together for the chain!

I also enjoy figuring out topics to write and I’ve got a note on my phone with dozens of post ideas that I need to get completed, each one when the time is right.

Cheers to continuing your hive journey!

It's really a great platform for expressing ourselves and growing over time. I'm glad that when I get a new phone, I just put it next to the old one and all the files transfer over. Otherwise, I'd lose a lot of notes! Modern technology is great, but I've lost notes before, so I also keep a notebook just in case ;) Thanks for stopping by! 😉 cheers to you too!

I felt very identified when you say that Hive is not about numbers, and I love how you narrate the inner struggle to regain the passion, that light that we all carry inside.

Best regards @tinabrezpike

That's why I love finding posts from people who write with heart. It's easy to tell who's here for money and who's here for other reasons, like meeting new people and discovering other cultures. I enjoy reading stories from people on the other side of the world and learning about their traditions. Thanks for the nice words ;)

You're welcome, it has been a real pleasure to read you. Best regards.

I love this one!:

Meeting people in the hive is very interesting, each person is a different world.

What I like most is that there is always a person who is going to show you a different point of view, who is going to share their experience with you and that for me makes me dream of other places, other worlds and other cultures. Almost at night in my dreams, I savor its food and its places.

Oh yeah you are right about this, meeting people coming from a different country and learning their culture through their eyes is something incredible. Is one thing when you are looking on the tv, and completely another when is writing someone who lives this, and I can almost feel how they feel.I have already met a lot of people who come from Cuba and since it is my dream destination and since I have already read so many articles from a personal point of view, it only gives me more impetus to travel there soon. I believe you also find someone here living in a place you want to visit? :)) and thank u, Sony A6000 in his action ;))

Well, it's super interesting, I usually chat very animatedly with people in Japan, Spain, the UK, Ukraine and the Philippines. It's very interesting, because the talks go beyond hive, especially sharing on discord and sometimes on telegram, it's very entertaining (more so when competitive activities like games are shared haha). I dream of visiting New Zealand, I love the place, or the Netherlands. But to live I would like to do it in Amsterdam. I'm from Venezuela, although I know a good number of people in Cuba, also here on hive.

That Sony camera is very impressive, but the photo is even more so.

Thank you, but we sold Sony some time ago, lenses are just too expensive :/ Now you're talking to someone from Slovenia living in Austria ;) Oh yeah, Venezuela is also on my list, but man, those plane tickets are expensive. Maybe in the future, when Star Trek finally gives us warp technology, it'll be easier ;) I visited Amsterdam two years ago, and it was an amazing experience. So many different cultures in one town, and those streets and buildings... But I can tell you one thing, if I lived there, I'd gain a lot of weight! Every other shop is a candy store. I think the only place without candy shops was the red street! ;)

If I imagine that it is expensive, everything related to photography costs a lot of money (lights, tripods, filters, etc.). I do not recommend that you travel to Venezuela right now, because not only are the tickets expensive, but life in general is totally crazy.

I love Amsterdam, I would be able to mortgage an arm and a leg to go live there hahaha.

I wouldn't go just for the sweets, but for the cannabis, I would really enjoy that sweet, even more so being a local in the area hahaha.

Austria? That's practically my 2nd favorite place. You are the 2nd person I know from there, I love the whole story and especially the part about it being full of Vampires (if you are a vampire, come and bite me, I will be your slave! =) ).

We spent a ton of cash on equipment, and of course, we needed a drone. Obviously. Because, you know, very important ;) I almost crashed it a few times, but I think I’ve finally got the hang of it. I hope ;))

Let's be real, everyone visiting Amsterdam thinks about smoking without being judged. It was hilarious when we walked into a coffee shop. Instead of asking what we wanted to drink, the waiter asked what strain we wanted to smoke and started listing them off. I was like, "Dude, just give me my coffee and a menu, because I didn’t understand half of what you said!" Then they brought us pre-rolled joints. It was so funny sitting outside, drinking coffee, and smoking without looking over your shoulder for the police ;)) I was surprised, though. We tried speaking German with them because Dutch and German are pretty similar, but no one wanted to speak German. I guess they haven’t forgotten what happened in World War II ;/ Oh, and by the way, don't visit Austria acting like a vampire. Apparently, there are vampire hunters here, hunting them down across Europe, especially in Serbia and Romania ;))

The truth is I haven't had the opportunity to handle a drone, only in video games, so I suppose it must be quite easy to crash it, but it's nothing that after crashing about 60 drones you can't solve! ;)

Regarding the coffees, the truth is that it is very impressive to read your story, even more so, to be able to live the experience. According to me, Europeans in general are very hurt by the issue of the Second War and Germany. So much so that I tell you that on one occasion I made an analogy with someone telling him that he was a Nazi, and the Third World War almost broke out in the community. They take it very seriously, and to a certain point I understand it, but... you also have to turn the page with certain topics, let them go, right? I say to continue living and smiling in life and not stay stagnant.

How long did they stay in the cafe? I suppose several hours, until they could get up. I think I would have fallen asleep there on the couch, until the next day =D

don't visit Austria acting like a vampire. Apparently, there are vampire hunters here, hunting them down across Europe, especially in Serbia and Romania ;))

OMG hahahaha sometimes I romanticize this topic too much hahahaha

Remember never forget what makes you happy I had to go through a tragedy to know that you have one life to be happy and do what you love and believe is best for you keep living doing what you love.

Very good reflection, many times we don't give value to what we have until we lose it. I'm glad to hear that you overcame the tragedy and have regained your love for life.

Truth you don't know what you've got until it's gone.
I lost a great love, I felt like I lost a part of my life.
To the point of being with "nothing happy" thoughts.
But that was what she wanted she did NOT want me to be happy.
After you feel you have lost everything you always start over by raising your head with dignity and build again but this time with a new mindset happiness and my will is something that NO ONE CAN TAKE FROM YOUR HANDS neither life nor death nor low nor high no matter what happens no one will take anything from me ever again.
always fight for what you believe in and love until the last breath of life.

It's tough when people close to us try to crush our dreams and hopes just because they're only thinking about themselves. It's sad, but we have to grow up and turn negativity into positivity. Both bad and good experiences make us stronger. Never give up. There are people out there who love us for who we are, not just for what we can do for them. Stay strong!

Thank you for your positive words. I know it's hard to go through tragedy and then find your way again, but like you said, we only have one life to be happy. Realizing how to learn from bad experiences is a big step. Hive helped me with this. I let out all my negativity by writing and sharing, and after reading so many supportive comments, I realized that everyone struggles, we just cope differently with our problems. I've found a lot of advice here.

Hey there, you just received 2,500 Ecency points from me for this entry. Thanks for being involved and following the guidelines.
