I rarely have a single photo post, so I thought, why not share it with the community created for that? 😁
Also, this cuteness overload deserves the centre field.
During the twilight hour, I walked by a stable along a remote road.
Dark enough that I nearly missed it, but light enough;
Thank goodness I glimpsed it.
Alone, by the lonely road leading to Napton Cidery, stood the pony.
Silently, by the fence, looking dejected.
Its gentle demeanour captivated me immediately.
The blanket electrified its cuteness, which evoked deep emotions of sympathy, and I wanted to hug it.
Alas, there were barriers before the fence and a sign not to feed the horses.
Fantasies of a pet pony living in the bow of my boat seemed realistic, since green grass is abundant along the towpaths, and some stables provide hay for passersby to help themselves.
Visualisations of me leading the pony to nearby fields had me gloating, as I imagined the pony enjoying the changes of scenery.
I'm neither a pony nor a horse whisperer, but I was thrilled that its ears perked as I said hello in what appeared to be a moment of zen for the pony.
There was softness in its eyes. Yes, its eyes were focused yet soft. So calm was the pony, enjoying the attention.
It seemed so caring and so affectionate.
What if I hadn't noticed it?
What if there were no barriers?
What if I'd touched it?
What if it had made a sound?
What if I never spoke to it?
What if it were a colt?
What if it were a mare?
What if I were a pony?
Then, reality struck.
Not only does acquiring a pony not align with my life right now, but I could not properly nurture a healthy and happy pony on my boat.
Still, the touching fantasy leads to thoughts and appreciation for the farmland owners who love, care for, and receive the trust and affection of such equine mammals.
Strangely, within the equestrian family, I adore ponies and donkeys, but I'm a tad bit terrified of being too close to horses; they're majestic but too unpredictable for me to relax around them.
Still, these marvellous moments make me realise how much of a country girl I am at heart, and the simplicity of countryside living makes me smile.
Are you an animal lover too, and what are your preferences and some of the deciding factors for your pet choice?
Also, do you have a pony, or have you ever fantasised about having a pony in your backyard?
Please feel free to share the emotion you felt from this picture that I took.
Thanks for stopping by. :)

Hello dear friend @millycf1976 good morning
What a beautiful pony.
As a child we had a little horse at my grandparents' house, we called him Rayito, we enjoyed him a lot until he grew up and became very big and we could no longer have him in the house
I love ponies, I would love to have one
Beautiful photography
Have a beautiful day
Thank you, and the same to you @jlufer.
That's an interesting name. What inspired that name?
I've been thinking about what would I name a pony if I had one, and I realised that I would probably need to see the pony and the connection I feel.
My dad grew up wit a donkey that he rode to school, as many country boys in his era did.😍
The name Rayito came from the color of his mane, which resembled lightning.
I also think that the name has to be associated with the connection with the pony.
How great that your father grew up with the company of a donkey, he must have had a very fun childhood.
Have a wonderful day.
Wow! That's super interesting.
I thought of the name Cinnamon for that pony, based on its colour, plus I like the spice and the name Cinnamon :)
¨Cinnamon¨ is a beautiful name, it goes very well with the pony
😍
Aw, that's lovely to hear:)))
Oh gosh, look at that coat! He's beyond adorable <3 And I agree, a tiny guy (?) like that seems feasible even on a boat.
I really, really like this train of thought here. Beautiful post. It seems these one-photo posts suit you! <3
Hmm, I'm curious if it's a guy! Even though it's cute and stylish, I found myself writing 'his' in some lines.
I've always wished I had a pony to take for walks, and the towpath would be ideal, I think!😁
Thank you 😍😊🤗
I have almost no equestrian experience. I rode a horse on a trail through the mountains at a dude ranch in Montana once. I've seen plenty at the fair. But neither my family nor my neighbors were horse owners. A few family friends had them, but I never went riding with them. Of course my sisters wanted ponies when they were little, but that never manifested anything real.
I occasionally rode horses when I was a child, but I was never that fascinated.
However, my fear increased when I worked at a resort with a stable. I saw horses randomly kick people in the face... so I keep my distance now:)
Some horses do seem like a moose running skittish Chihuahua software.
Haha! I have to agree here 😅
It's really cute, but I think she's missing an accessory. Sunglasses would make it cuter.
Haha! That's funny 😍
🤔 So you think it's a mare?
I thought it was a bit similar. Was I wrong?
Hmm, I don't know, but I thought the perspective of others would be interesting 😁
Oh, cute pony, I can feel the feeling of having one. My niece will probably like a Pony, too, hehe.
I bet 😁
That is a cute pony, they are certainly curious animals, love them have the best day my friend @millycf1976
