Blacktip Reefshark in shallow water Thailand

When my mother is on holiday I often get some smartphone pictures from her where she shows me several nice places she visits. And as she knows I am into animal photography she also tries to take some pictures of animals whenever she has the opportunity to do so. And sometimes she takes some really nice pictures of interesting animals like this. When I see some pictures like this I often think that I really must travel a little more abroad and in other countries so I can see some beautiful things elsewhere too not only in Austria. Problem is only Time and Money :-)

Sharks are often considered as killers because movies often tend to exaggerate the attack of sharks, of course there are some shark attacks with dangerous outcome and some people are even dying from sharks but only very very few, and in nearly all of the cases it is the fault of the human.

This type of shark is a relatively small shark with a total length smaller than most humans. The blacktip reef shark has extremely small home ranges and exhibits strong site fidelity, remaining within the same local area for up to several years at a time. I have already seen several documentation about sharks and in some of them the blacktip reefsharks are also covered.

How beautiful! And what a wonderful experience your mother got to witness! Also, thank you for your positive and educated outlook on sharks. They need more people like you :)

Yes it is a pitty they have such a bad image. They eat fish and humans are not at their diet. We humans kill millions of sharks every year, this is so brutal. 😢

I 100% agree with you.

We appreciate your work and your post has been manually curated by zoology team (oscurity, nelinoeva) on behalf of Amazing Nature Community. Keep up the good work!

Thank you very much!
