A beautiful and cold morning that waited for me instead.
Now why did I use the word "instead" in the opening sentence?
Well when I saw the street lamp poles standing like sentinels waiting for the sun, I thought that it was going to be a great sunrise.
Lovely sun rays running down the mountain valleys and all such beauties.
But I had another think coming.
Look here at the angled bare branch, I wasn't the only one that was fooled, as even the two birds were waiting for the sun.
Surely the sun would emerge at any moment and we all waited in anticipation
Soon and I sang with the birds, "Come sun, come sun".
Have you ever heard the saying; You make your plans and then life happens ?
But not to be, as look what the wind did, it blew the clouds over the face of the sun within minutes.
And then it was raining, just like that.
So, as a consolation I have posted this Southern Double -collared Sunbird for you that I snapped yesterday.
Oh yes, Mother nature likes to play her tricks on us and I had to laugh at myself as me and the birds had to scatter into our hiding places.
I especially got up early out of bed preparing to catch the new Spring sunrise on camera, but then life happened.
How often does this not happen to all of us in life?
Wr prepare for something with great expectations and then it turns out to be a damp squib.
That's why I have the fond saying of, "Such is life" and fortunately I have learned to laugh at myself.
I hope that you did too.

Oh yes, it takes time to find their habitual sitting places and then it is easy to get them. They blend in beautifully with the trees.

Oh yes and the trick is to find the place that the bird prefers for my camera.
They do blend in well with the tree's colors.

Southern Double-collared Sunbird is now my favorite, although I haven't seem one in person, and I doubt that I'll see one anytime soon 😜
Oh yeah mine too as he is the smallest of the Sunbirds, but reckoned as the best singer.
A lovely little fella and I got another one in a high tree on a farm today.

Hmm that gives me a clue, maybe I need to go looking for these trees early in the morning.
I am sure I won't find the Double collared Sunbird here but surely others of its kind.
Oh yes and the birds love the Bottle Brush tree. (Callistemon citrinus).
Maybe Google to see if you have the tree over there.
We have loads of them here. Almost every street has one except ours I guess.
Oh! Wonderful and you can certainly go and look for some birds in them 😉
Oh yes, I know such mornings or evenings very well, my friend, I make my plans and then life happens in form of a big cloud that covers all of the setting or rising sun.
But it is as you say, such is life, and if Mother Nature wants to play then I'll play with her 😉

Hahaha, over here it's not the big cloud that bothers me as much as the sudden rain my friend.
Over here one moment in the sun and the next moment wet 🤣
Thec wind brings only one small darkish cloud over at speed and the cloud decides to cry real tears right on top of me. I think the cloud was frightened of the speed of the wind that blew it over 🤣

Yeah, I don't like rain neither. I don't mind that wet stuff that falls from the sky when it's warm in summer, but like now when it's colder and often windy, I hate it when it rains.

Exactly my friend as we live in a winter rainfall area now and up north it is a summer rainfall area.
We arrived here in mid winter the first time and we lived in a cottage on a farm with a leaking roof and surrounded by mud. But now we are used to it and that water in the cold is always a pain.
The problem is that my bones are now old and they don't like the wet and the cold, so at night I cannot sleep well due to cramps.

Oh yes, the older the bones get the more they like the dry warmth. I also begin to feel that slowly and prefer to wear thick socks in winter.

Hahaha, some surprises await you my friend as everything and I mean everything shrinks in the cold when you get old. The normal rugby games takes a back seat as all of one's attention is on how to ease the multitude of aching bones 🤣🤣🤣
My luck recently is such that if I win a competition the prize will be a comb for my hairless head 🤣
