Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!
Welcome to the 79th round of my special weekly photo challenge known as Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun :)
I know a lot of photo contests with nature as the main theme were/are/will be hosted by various people on the Hive blockchain but I wanted to come up with something more than just another photo contest where participants would submit their best natural photos. Therefore, I decided to go for quite an unusual concept that I am going to introduce in the following lines.
The aim of the Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun photo challenge is not to make you dig up your photo archives and submit the best pictures of nature that you have ever taken. Instead, I want you guys to go out and appreciate the beauty of our nature right now.
The internet (and the Hive blockchain as well) is flooded with picture perfect shots of landscapes, mountains, forests, beaches etc. taken years ago. But this is not what I want to see in this challenge. I want to see shots that may not be necessarily stunning but they must be fresh, proving that you have just physically spent some time outdoors in the fresh air. But remember that nature comes in many forms. It doesn´t have to be a pristine jungle or a deep remote forest. An urban park, a botanical garden, a little grove on the outskirts of your town - pretty much any place with some trees, plants, rocks, bodies of water or any other natural features would be just as fine ;)
Obviously, there is no way for me to verify whether the photo that you submit in the challenge is really fresh or if it was even taken by you so I am relying on your honesty guys. The prizes for the winners (as described below) are more symbolical than overly motivating so I don´t expect too much fraudulent behavior in this challenge anyway.
I want to keep the rules of this challenge as simple and benevolent as possible so let´s agree on just this:
Only one entry (photo) per person per round.
The photo must be yours and not older than one week.
Add a few words about the photo, at least where and when you took it.
You can start submitting your entries to this round in the comment section below from now until the next round.
Prior to publishing the next round post, I will pick 3 winners, give my full upvote on their entries and feature them in the next round of the challenge. As long as the response is not too overwhelming, I will also try to give some smaller upvotes on all of the other entries to reward all participants.
I might change the concept and/or the rules of the photo challenge later on, depending on how things go. I usually host the challenge on Thursday but when needed for some reason, I can host it on some other day so better check my blog regularly not to miss out on it ;)
To keep up with you guys, I submit my own fresh natural photo to every round´s post too :) Here is my contribution to start out this round:
Just a random landscape shot that I took on my way to the forest to see if the mushroom season has already begun (no, it hasn´t actually :D). It was a beautiful, sunny, yet not too hot day and I really enjoyed those forest bathing moments. Mid August is usually a very enjoyable part of the summer here in Central Europe. I took this picture in a rural part of the Moravian - Silesian Region of the Czech Republic a couple of days ago.
In the last round, we had 6 participants. After some thorough consideration, I decided to pick these 3 winners:

I left early this morning for work to go the long way round. Enjoying the scenic sights along the way from the Byron Bay, Australia coastline to the rivers to the country side stopped for a takeaway coffee on the way and to take some country side photos on the way, I often like driving along these country roads of Byron Bay it's all so peaceful out here just the healthy cows and green mountains these are really lucky people to be living out here.

My entry was taken earlier this week. My husband and I found a new place to explore located in Godfrey, Illinois,USA. The Olin Nature Preserve is 294 acres that include hiking trails where you can see the Mississippi River, limestone bluffs, sinkholes, creeks, a waterfall, upland forests, and hill prairies. We have much more to explore here. Here is my entry taken with my iPhone looking past a wildflower prairie to the Mississippi River.
Congratulations guys! It was my pleasure to give you 100% upvotes on your entries :)
I am looking forward to what you will come up with in this round.
Have fun and appreciate the beauty of nature!
I post this series in the Amazing Nature community, a great community for all nature lovers. Feel free to check it out ;)
5 AM last Sunday, watching sunrise in the Jeseníky mountains (Czechia). Photo was taken from the Red mountain (1333 m.a.s.l.). Almost froze to death at night :-D
This photo was taken during an evening walk in the city of Mogilev, Belarus. This is the embankment of the Dnieper River, which flows in our city.
Nice view, thank you. When did you take this picture?
This photo was taken last weekend.
Ok thanks :)
I took this picture on Monday when I visited the Guilin Park for the first time. This used to be a granite quarry. It is now shut down, and the government develop the place into a park. The place bears a slight resemblance to the famous Guilin in China. Hence, the park is known fondly as Little Guilin to the locals in Singapore.
Hey there, welcome to the challenge. Thank you for this great entry with all the required info :) Flooded quarries are so cool. I have been to quite a lot of them already. Is swimming allowed in this one?
My pleasure.
Unfortunately, no swimming, no fishing allowed at the quarry. 😊
Great capture @netizen01. I lived in Singapore for 3 years but unfortunately I did not visit this park before :(
Thank you for taking a look. I hope you have good memories of your time here. You must visit the Little Guilin when you come back again. 😊
My apologies. I thought you were referring to the Gardens by the Bay. Maybe you can visit the Little Guilin when you visit Singapore again.😊
No worries 😉 I've been to Gardens By the Bay many times but I've never known about Little Guilin. What a mistake!! I will surely visit the place next time :)
Thank you and have a great Sunday :))
Appreciate Beauty of Nature with @phortun: round 79.
Today I am all around the farm, thinking what to used in @phortun beauty of nature appreciation contest, and not I come up with this leaf of sweet yam.
Botanical name: Ipomoea batatas
I don't know how my entry may look but I believe that nothing is too small and nothing is too big, is just d your best and see if you are lucky.
Therefore, I am presenting sweet yam (Ipomoea batatas) in my entry.
Wish myself and each of everyone of us that participate good luck
🥰
Interesting close up, I like the shininess :) Thanks.
Btw location is Southern Nigeria, right?
Thank you so much 💃
Yes that is true
This week I returned to work full-time as students start the new school year on Monday. Therefore my dabbles in nature were limited to a couple lunch breaks at a nearby park and embracing my home habitat. We are blesssed to have over an acre of land here and a nice wooded area behind us blocking out an apartment complex. I had a couple of pics from the park earlier this week. However, I just discovered this little guy in my yard moments ago and he deserves the honor! Shot with my iPhone in St. Louis, Missouri, USA.
Wow, what a nice close up, thanks :) I love to take photos of insects. Sometimes, it feels like they actually like to pose :D Like this guy in Costa Rica :)
That’s an awesome capture! Love their colors.
Fantastic shot and yes, he deserves the honor It's nice to have a green nature around your workplace so you can hang out in nature and breathe the fresh air during the break time :)
My drive this morning going to work, I took the road going inland away from Byron Bay beach, it is a road that leads you over to the other side of Byron Bay town instead of driving through the town, it takes a few extra minutes but worthwhile to see and enjoy the scenic views of the beautiful mountain ranges and breath in some clean fresh mountain air.
Absolutely, worth every one of those extra minutes :) Thanks for sharing this beautiful view with us.
It was thank you @phortun 👍
This photo was taken a few days ago at sunset. When looking at the picture, you have to look back a little, then you can understand the whole picture.
Location: Dhaka, Rajshahi - Bangladesh
Interesting scenery, thanks. Looks very similar to our forests here in Europe, I would expect some other types of trees and vegetation in Bangladesh :)
Oh wow, superb snap :)
Hi all! This is my participation of the week, an image that I captured this morning when I went down to walk one of my pets, some beautiful Geranium flowers that are in the gardens of the residences located in Caracas Venezuela. This plant is very common in Venezuelan gardens for its simplicity of planting and maintenance in any area, whether in pots or the ground.
Lovely flower close up, thank you :)
Beautiful :)
Excellent selection phortun. They're all amazing😍 The summer there looks nice and beautiful rural scene.
My entry this round : moon and stars that's all I can see at the moment :) Going outdoors is something luxurious and unable to do it now for me and some other people due to the intense lockdown. However, I don't want to give up and be unmotivated, I can still see something in this way or another way 🙂 The picture was just taken here in my building in Da Nang while I went to the rooftop to do some exercise and relax.
Hope you guys enjoy something different from me :)
Lovely! We have to embrace what we can during difficult times. Earlier this week I was enjoying the moon and stars from my back porch. 30 minutes moon gazing and being serenaded by the cicadas brought me peace after a long day of meetings and computer work. 🌖💫🪐✨🦗
Thank you @thomasd04, same to me. I love the moonlight and I feel so good every time I went up the rooftop to watch it and do yoga or exercise. 😉
Nice, I really appreciate your resourcefulness :) And your engagement here with other participants too btw, very kind of you ;) Thanks.
Don't mention it :) I have so much time in hands now 😁
What creative entries and captures of nature! Lovely selection for a lovely idea @phortun
Thanks :) Feel free to join the challenge.

Hi there mate,
Some pretty decent entries last week.
I will try to enter this week as well as I am just leaving to stay at another Tourist Farm in Prekmurje region. I am going with my family, but still I am sure I will create some interesting shot and had a story to tell.
Keep up the good initiatives!
