The Siberian chipmunk (Eutamias sibiricus), also called common chipmunk
In the summer, I very rarely see this furry friend in the forests. Only sometimes I hear their voices warning of danger when I pass by.
But autumn comes, leaves disappear from the trees, tall grass and thickets wither, and at this time the chance to see a chipmunk is high. In addition, at this time, these animals are actively stocking up for the winter.
It is very important to collect as much food as possible so that it lasts until spring. Chipmunks hibernate in mid to late October, depending on the weather. And all this time, until mid-late April, they sleep in their home. Only sometimes in the middle of winter do they wake up to eat and go back to sleep.
