One of my favorite things to enjoy is the sound of cascading water. It brings me peace and tranquility to listen to the gentle waterfall hitting the pond's surface.

Every spring when the water starts to warm up the resident frogs emerge from hibernation.

Usually, it is the female, the largest of the frogs that shows up first. Then a few male frogs start to show up for the annual mating season.

The symphony of mating calls goes on for weeks, between the toads and the frogs. Soon the pond is full of eggs, the tadpoles emerge, and little ones are everywhere.

This summer I had 7 frogs that made the pond their home. They love sitting together in groups patiently waiting for a bug to pass by.

I think they are just the cutest little creatures and wow, one could learn a lesson on patience just by watching how long they sit in one spot in anticipation.

Mika is checking out this frog sunning on the rock. It never even moved when she got close to sniffing it. I think they all feel secure in knowing that we leave them alone. Even when it is time to clean the filter, they never move from where they are sitting.

I thought I would share a few photos I have taken over the summer before the little creatures decide to disappear for a long winter's rest.

Perhaps this frog thought a higher vantage point would get him closer to catching a fly. ;-)

This is tranquil, I can also imagine the soft fall of cascading water. Very beautiful indeed!

Thanks, Edith. ♥

Nice. Very peaceful to watch. ☺️

Thank you

The pond in my garden lasted six or seven years before the toads and frogs became too much, fish went to local nursery (adopted out after requesting them) we visited them there. Still have cascading waterfall for the birds to drink and bathe in.

Your garden looks so inviting with pond (similar to my uncles), more to center whereas ours was up against the house. 🙃

That's too bad you had to give up your pond. The toads do lay a lot of eggs in the spring but we remove a lot of them before they hatch. I used to have fish but a blue heron would come and eat them, so that ended that. I love listening to the water cascading and the birds love taking baths in the pond.

When young we had a pet duck that loved to gobble the eggs up, perhaps an idea !LOLZ

I would love it but our town does not allow having chickens or ducks. Otherwise, I would for sure.

Many towns don't allow poultry as pets in the garden we never grew up with so many rules. Have a lovely day it must be looking wonderful now entering autumn.

The nights are getting cooler now and the plants are dying back. Soon the leaves will begin changing color for fall.

We had a bit of snow inland which has given us another two days 'feeling' little winter, still hopeful as we have not really experienced a winter this year. Enjoy the change!

Great area to chill and relax.

The pond really is so enjoyable. Have a great week cup-bearer.

Such a beautiful and peaceful corner! I'd like to have a similar one in my backyard. ❤️

The little pond is so relaxing and the animals enjoy it too.

Wow, this is very interesting, the frogs are very cute.

Thanks I enjoy them all summer.

Loved these shots of your pond and especially all the frogs. The one of Mika and the frog was cute.
