An impromptu outfit I made for a client.

in NeedleWorkMonday2 years ago (edited)

Been busy as a bee, the holiday is almost here and everybody wants to slay.

A Friend of mine came to my store last week that she wanted me to make an urgent outfit for her.

The outfit looks simple but a bit complicated, her hope was on me as she believes I am the only one in the community who would make the outfit to her taste.

Okay, after measuring her body I headed to my table to cut the fabrics.

It was a bubu turtles neck top with a puffy sleeve on a fitted skirt with a slit.

Me on my sewing machine doing what I love to do.

The sleeve of the outfit is to be joined later.

She sent a picture of what she wanted, I would have posted it, but I do not have a source for it, because she sent it to my phone.

The sweetest part about being a fashion designer is the ability to copy and paste a particular style, create and even invent your style.

Well, as for this outfit, it was a copy-and-paste thing, I had to zoom the picture she sent to me, to determine the actual style.

Was it much of a big deal to me, well no! Fashion is food to my soul, so I was ready to savor the dish.

I put into consideration all the details of the outfits.

But something funny happened, my friend who was the client had a fear that I might not meet up within the time frame she had given simply because it was short.
She decided to come to sit with me in the store.🤣🤣.
I assured her that I was never going to disappoint her, and after she spent a few minutes with me, she was convinced, and then she went home.

Well, I kept to my word even if I had to make myself uncomfortable just to me her feel happy and satisfied, I ensured I did that.

I had a few challenges while sewing, I fell ill the next day, but because I wanted to keep to my promise, I tried so hard to complete the outfit.

On the day she came for fittings in my store.

Here is the outcome of my work.

Well, the outfit came out nice, that's my friend rocking the outfit I made.

This outfit was made out of bridal satin, teal green color and I used 4yards of fabric to make it.

The top is a bubu cut, folded in four, I measured 3 inches in width and 3 inches in depth, I cut the turtle neck according to her neck circumference, and the top has no zipper, and lining.

The skirt had a lining and a zipper to make the finish beautiful.

My joy lies in seeing her looking beautiful in her outfit with smiles All over her.

She gave me so many kudos when she came back from the wedding that people loved her outfit and asked who made the dress for her.

I had to screenshot the post she made on Facebook to show how happy she was with the dress.

Ever since then, I've been her sure plug for outfits. Bespoke or ready-to-wear.

That's a beautiful dress, I love the colour and the silhouette, especially the slim skirt and the big statement sleeves. I'm guessing bridal satin is not the most easiest fabric to work with, it has a beautiful finish 🙂

Yeah, it wasn't easy working with a bridal satin because it slips hehe, however, I am glad I could make something beautiful out of it.

This dress looks beautiful. Glad you were able to finish it just in time for your friend to wear it, she looks great with it. Congratulations ❤️.

On the other hand, I will leave you with some suggestions to put together more valuable publications:

-clear text that tells behind the scenes of the project, how you felt about it, when it took, etc (the text of this post is nice :))

-photos: make sure you take good pictures, with good lighting and that they come out clear. If there are many photos, you can group them into collages.

-interaction: remember to comment on posts from other members of the community, building relationships and evaluating other projects is important.

I hope these tips help you. Greetings and have a good day 😀.

Okay ma'am @lauramica ,I'll do better thanks for stopping by my blog.

I love those sleeves, they are beautiful, what a great friend you are, I know what it's like to work with little time and running to get there, I'm sure she appreciates it a lot, she looks very happy and the outfit suits her very well, working with satin is difficult It looks like you did a great job
