Hello everyone
A beautiful day to you all and I wish you all are doing great just as I'm doing here....
As much as I tried to meet up with the #needleworkmonday, where we the needleworker show case our creativity every Monday, I always get interrupted by power supply. But,today I'm glad to bring to you what I recently concluded sewing.
For so long, I have been seeing this robe made and worn by people but it never came to my mind to try it out, though looking at it from afar, I thought it was something so difficult to achieve, I never thought it could be as simple as this not until a friend of mine asked if I could make a robe for her for her friend's bridal shower party, I said to myself, this is an opportunity for you to do this.
There is one good thing about me, I will never tell you I don't know how to if someone challenged or asked me to do something I've never done before in sewing, I will tell you I can, the only thing it will cost me is watching several YouTube videos on how that particular thing is being done and that has been a great help to me.
When my friend asked, I told her I can then she brought her fabric and I did the usual by watching online video, I got what I wanted and get started with the cutting.
Cutting and sewing process
To cut the back, the fabric was folded in two with her hip measurement plus 1" then I marked out the neckline of 3" with and 1" depth with the armhole measurement as well
To cut the front pattern, the fabric was folded into two with 3" in front for overlapping while the neck was measured 3" by 5" for the front neckline.
It was cut out and I have this when placed together with the full length measurement.
After cutting out the sleeve, the remaining fabric was used to cut out a long strip to tape the robe.
The front and back were sewn together and the long strip was used to tape the robe from the hem of the robe through the neck down to the other hem of the robe and the down was hem with 1".
It looked beautiful on you, nothing to envy to a robe bought in a store. It has also happened to me that some garment that previously seemed like a challenge, becomes simple when I'm sewing it, it's like "wow, but it's not so complicated" ha ha the best thing is that moment when you have the piece ready and you fulfilled the challenge. I hope your friend has a lot of fun at that bachelorette party 👀 je je
I have learnt not to think of any garment as impossible for me to make, as far as I have my fabric and the necessary material, I believe I can achieve something similar if not the exact thing, this is a plus to my sewing skill 😃😃😃
As for my friend, tomorrow is the event and I'm so sure she will like it.
Thanks so much dear friend @suezoe, I really appreciate your comment on this post.
