It's a new week and i hope you all had a wonderful weekend, it's a beginning of another week for us all at #needleworkmonday where we showcase our creativity for the week. It's my pleasure today to share with you a recent design of a wedding guest outfit I made for my friend with Queen Anne neckline cut with a yoke from another matching fabric and the outcome was really nice and beautiful.

Last week, my friend contacted me that she would like me to make her outfit for her for a wedding she would be attending on Saturday, it was just few days to the wedding and for this, we have to get to work immediately but first, she has to make a choice of style, at first, she came up with a style that will take like forever to finish, I had to remind her that we have just 2 days to get this outfit done because I would also be traveling in 4 days time so I suggested this simple dress for her and she was ok with it, immediately, I went to the market to get the materials needed as we are also trying to cut cost in sewing.

Firstly, I drafted out the upper bodice measurement on a brown paper with the queen Anne neckline and it was later placed on the main fabric to cut out the front and back bodice.

The main fabric was used to cut out the lining and were sewn together

Before sewing the front upper bodice with the lining, I cut out the yoke on the other lace fabric and sew it on the front bodice before using the lining to cover the bust area of the upper bodice, then the front and back were sewn together and set aside

The lower part of the gown were cut out using the lower bodice measurement and to make it thick and have more fitting, I used satin material for the lining which was cut same way.

Though the satin were shorter than the main fabric and it was sewn together with zipper allowance at the back.

The front and back of the lower bodice were sewn together and set aside with a little tail shape at the back.

The upper and lower bodice were sewn together to make a full gown and I went ahead to cut out a basic long sleeves from the remaining lace fabric to be sewn to the armhole circumference.

Finally, the sleeves were sewn to the armhole circumference and the zipper at the back, this is the final outcome of the wedding guest outfit I made for my friend.

She was so happy at the outcome and this didn't cost her much compared to the one she wanted to make initially, I'm so glad this came out so nice and how happy she was when it was delivered to her.

Thanks so much for your time, support, comment and encouragement. Until my next post, do have a great week.
