Oooh, thank you for this great post dissecting sewing leggings, dear @neumannsalva ! I had some wrestling today with the fit of my gingham summer dress, which was sitting about 5 yrs in a chest, waiting to be adjusted... Partly it adjusted itself, by me filling out in my flesh, and so filling the dress too - great benefits of putting on weight!! :-D If you haven't put the waist band in yet, then darts might work, but yes, it might be best to take in the side seam and have it neater on the whole ... the links that @phoenixwren mentions below sound promising...
I am sooo happy that you shared the Mood links to free patterns too: absolutely brilliant! Not that I use patterns per se, but it helps me to see a pattern, to get ideas and mastery :-D Looking forward to the next project.

Thankfully the leggings are not for me, but for the huge doll I am sewing. She wont complain when the backside is looking weird :-DDD But it was a good moment to have a look into the fitting of leggings, but to be honest i am again a bit deterred to try it for real (aka for me). I will wait for a quiet moment and try to understand the techniques which are mentioned in @phoenixwren links.
But at first I need to stuff the doll :-DDDD
And yes Mood is fabulous isn't it? So many free patterns. I only need to learn to sew better :-DDD The only downside of Mood is the sizing. I fall inbetween 5!!! sizes. But this should not be a problem for you as you have a better understand of fitting/construction.
THere is another fabric company with a lot of free patterns... not sure if you know it already:
https://fabrics-store.com/sewing-patterns
And I also like the free pattern from https://peppermintmag.com/sewing-school/
Especially the Bardon dress, the wide leg pants and the vintage style skirt. But I know all would need intensive fitting for my body and this is so daunting for me.
Looking forward to your sewing projects <3
