Mi debut tejiendo a dos agujas. // My debut knitting with two needles.

Hola amigos, espero que estén todos muy bien. Yo por aquí debutando con el tejido a dos agujas conocido también como tejido a palitos. Desde hace un tiempo tenía la inquietud por empezar a practicar. Todo comenzó después de que mi hijo hiciera un peluche tejido con dos agujas que él mismo elaboró con ganchos de alambres. Me quedé sorprendida del resultado y me propuse también aprender a tejer.

Estuve buscando las agujas que mi hijo elaboró y solo conseguí una. Así que decidí salir a comprar un par de agujas con las que pueda tejer con los hilos que tengo en casa, saben que uso pabilo y acrílico de 1 y 2 milímetros. Entonces pedí agujas de 3mm para empezar a practicar.

Otra motivación que tengo es que voy a tener un nuevo sobrino, aún desconocemos el sexo, pero me gustaría tejer algo para él o para ella. He estado siguiendo las clases de una tejedora amateur en esto del tejido a dos agujas, ella va aprendiendo y va explicando lo aprendido. Yo solo veo. Ahora que tengo las agujas voy a repasar todas sus clases para ver qué proyecto puedo hacer.

Hello friends, I hope you are all very well. I'm making my debut with two-needle knitting, also known as stick knitting. For some time now I have been anxious to start practicing. It all started after my son made a stuffed animal knitted with two needles that he made himself with wire hooks. I was amazed by the result and I decided to learn to knit as well.

I was looking for the needles my son made and only got one. So I decided to go out and buy a pair of needles with which I can knit with the yarn I have at home, you know I use 1 and 2 mm wick and acrylic. So I ordered 3mm needles to start practicing.

Another motivation I have is that I am going to have a new nephew, we still don't know the sex, but I would like to knit something for him or her. I have been following the classes of an amateur knitter in this two-needle knitting, she is learning and explaining what she has learned. I just watch. Now that I have the needles I'm going to go through all her classes to see what project I can do.

Existen agujas de diferentes materiales y numeración. En el sitio donde compré estas habían hasta las de 5mm, con las que me gustaría tejer después. Todas elaboradas con aluminio. Esta es bastante liviana y su textura es entre suave y áspera a la vez.

Lo primero que practiqué fue montar los puntos. Intenté hacerlo tres veces sin mirar tutorial, pero no me salía bien. Miré un vídeo y listo empecé a montar los puntos bien. Debi hacer un nudo corredizo en la aguja antes de empezar. Como ven usé el hilo pabilo para sacar la primera muestra.

Me gustó el movimiento que se hace con las manos al estar montando los puntos. Siempre he pensado que tejer a dos agujas es para tejedoras de otra nivel. Dicen que es muy fácil, pero sé que no es verdad 😃

The first thing I practiced was to mount the stitches. I tried to do it three times without looking at a tutorial, but I couldn't get it right. I watched a video and then I started to knit the stitches well. I should have made a slip knot on the needle before I started. As you can see I used the wicking yarn to make the first swatch.

I liked the movement of the hands as I was knitting the stitches. I've always thought that two-needle knitting is for knitters of a different level. They say it's very easy, but I know it's not true 😃

Después de montar los puntos me sentí satisfecha. Fueron 20 puntos más el nudo corredizo con el que comencé. Recordando también las clases que he visto empecé a tejer 😃 la verdad es que lo hice de manera empírica prácticamente, empecé pasando la aguja derecha por el primer punto montado en la aguja izquierda, se usa más que todo las puntas de las agujas. Pasé la aguja por dentro del punto de abajo hacia arriba, tomé hebra o lazada y ambos puntos los pasé para la aguja derecha. ¿Qué punto es? Ni idea. Solo sé que pude practicar. No es el punto de derecho ni el de revés creo 😁

After the stitches were cast on I was satisfied. It was 20 stitches plus the slip knot I started with. Remembering also the classes I have seen I started to knit 😃 the truth is that I did it in an empirical way practically, I started by passing the right needle through the first stitch mounted on the left needle, it is mostly used the points of the needles. I passed the needle inside the stitch from bottom to top, took strand or loop and both stitches I passed them for the right needle.What stitch is it? No idea. I only know that I was able to practice. It's not the right or purl stitch I think 😁.

Este tejido no lo hice en un solo tiempo. Tejí dos vueltas empezando, luego lo abandoné y lo retomé en la noche. Al siguiente día tejí una vuelta más y hasta allí lo dejé. Seguiré practicando para adecuarme al uso y movimiento del tejido con dos agujas. No lo veo fácil, pero tampoco es imposible que logre tejer algún proyecto, aunque sea con los puntos más básicos. ¿Has tejido con dos agujas? ¿Como se llamará este punto que tejí?

I didn't knit this one in one go. I knitted two rounds starting, then abandoned it and picked it up again in the evening. The next day I knit one more round and that's as far as I left it. I will keep practicing to get used to the use and movement of two-needle knitting. It's not easy, but it's not impossible to knit a project, even with the most basic stitches.
