NeedleWorkMonday - On the Same Frequency!

Hello NeedleWorkMonday Friends!

Wait! Before you get excited this isn’t my work. 😄

Remember last week when I was sharing the Teddy backpack? I had mentioned that my daughter and I really missed sewing class because it’s been hard getting together to do so with my mom. We have all been on very different schedules.

Well little did I know my mom felt the same way and did a little sewing herself last week.

I got a message from her saying she was working on some Summer dresses for her grand babies for next year.

I thought that so hilarious because she had no idea we were doing some sewing either.

Here’s some of the process of making this cute little polka dot dress...

I really love the way those straps lay in the back.

I want you to know that this Community has inspired her. Until I told her about it and showed her some of your works she never took process photos.

When I did that post about her quilting last year she really enjoyed sending me step by step photos and now she does it automatically every time! I just love that. 😊

I look forward to seeing all of the dresses completed. She’s making one for my 2 year old as well.

Hopefully I will be able to show you more of her process.

Okay so now I need to get focused on making Teddy’s outfit with my daughter this week. I love @marblely’s suggestion of a jean vest.

wonderful art project! If you haven’t read it yet please do so you can be involved in something artistically incredible! 😃I also have to get my thoughts and ideas together for @neumannsalva’s

Well that’s all for today - short and sweet. I just wanted to share with you all how we were all on the same frequency by missing sewing class.

In my country this print is called ball print, I don't know what you name it. The white ball prints on the red color looking very bright. It's just shining on my eyes. Personally I am a great fan of red color. So this simple print is attracting me very much.

Thanks for sharing this one. Waiting for having your ones again :)

Thank you for stopping by @tasri! I like that name! 😃

Here in the US we call it polka dot. I love the different variations of names for certain patterns.

I am so glad to know you like red and enjoyed looking at the fabric! ☺️ I have really grown to love red myself ~

I read polka on your post, and just thinking- what is it?

Really impressive name 🙂

I think I will use this name rest of my life 🤪

Haha!! 😂

That's so awesome! I'm glad you like the name we call it!!

Great work from your mama :) The red-dots combination and style! It's perfect. I wish you can have a sewing class soon together.

Thank you so much! I am hoping we can get back to our classes soon too :)

Taking photos of the step by step end up being something fun since you can see the evolution of your project. I love it.

Beautiful dress. 😍

Yes! It is so fun seeing it all come together ;D

Thanks so much for visiting ~

Wow it is wonderful that you mom like to share hers jobs here!!

Yes, I am very glad to share her work here. She loves that I am doing so :)

I have liked that colour of the dress most. My sweet and lovely queen daughter should love this kind of dress. I shall try to choose such a colour for her to make her happy. straps lay in the back is also my favourite. I love to see this on kids dress.

Oh good! Red is such a rich vibrant color I am sure it will make her happy! 😊

Thank you so much for the positive feedback ~

That's a very nice dress. Good thing you're teaching your daughter sewing. I believe it's important for them to learn at a young age that you can create a lot of things if you learn how to. Congrats.

Thank you so much for the compliment of my mother's work. I think it's such a cute dress as well :)

I am really grateful she loves needlework at this age. I ran away from my mom when she was trying to teach me and I soooo wish I would have been as interested. I think it's important at a young age too.

Thanks so much ~ 😘

You mother is a pro... and this is showing in every thing she makes. No strangely cut pattern pieces or fray edges, no chaos (all things I produce while sewing) 😂 The dress will be wonderful, with the bold color and dots, it reminds me of the fifty’s dresses which are still super on vogue here. ANd this dress also for your tiny two year old daughter, this will be over-cute.
I hope you will find time together soon <3

She truly is. ☺️ She is sooo particular about the neatness and cleanliness of her work area. That’s one thing she always nags me about is cleaning up scraps and moving things out of my way to keep a clean work area. That’s quite impressive you’ve noticed that from my sharings of her work. 😃🤩

I thought the dress had a vintage feel to it too.

Thanks...I really am hoping we will get something together soon. She says she has another project for me to try...I think it’s along the lines of cross-stitch. We shall see! 😁

Embroider, cross stich and needlepoint... all are still on my to learn list eventually. I love the look of the finished artwork, but I think one needs a lot of patience to do it... much more than crochet or knitting. I am curious what your mother has planned.

oh my God this is really lovely. am in love with this dress already. i wish she do some for me. will love to gift them to my little siter
