Hello, friends especially needleworkers!

Finally last weekend i could spend my evening by doing crochet again. So happy to do that i could practice one of my hobby more. Recently i was too busy at work so that i couldn't have time to do any of my craft work which made me feel dull and unshine, haha. Well i dunno if as a crafter you feel the same with me when you don't have time to do any of your craft works. Well in this article i try my best to explain how i made this cute coaster easily with the steps and of course picture so that it could be easily followed by anyone who interested in making this cute crochet bear crochet.

For you to know, this is my second time trying to make the coaster cause my first attempt on saturday night was a big mess and then i didn't give up and tried again on sunday (yesterday) evening.

Well, let's just get started!

Project Time: around 4 hours

Difficulty: Quite difficult for me, you should remember the counting of the crochet which i am bad at

Skills needed:

  • magic ring
  • chain
  • slipped stitch
  • single crochet
  • double crochet
  • treble crochet

Materials and Things needed:

  • a 3.5 mm crochet hook
  • any color of the yarn you like and it should be proper with the hook
  • crochet marker
  • crochet needle

How to make it:

1ST

I made a magic ring then chain 1. After that, made 1 double crochet (DC) into the magic ring and mark it. After that, do another 11 DC so i got the total of 12 DC. Then pull the tail and slipped stitch to the first stitch (which i put a marker).

2ND

Next, i made chain 2 then DC increase (2 DC in a stitch) around. After that, slipped stitch to the 1st stitch ( i also put the marker on the 1st stitch). Then, for round 3, i made chain 2, made the pattern of DC - DC increase - DC increase then repeat. Last, slipped stitch to the 1st stitch then remove the marker.

3RD

For the last round, chain 2 then DC increase - DC - DC, DC increase - DC - DC and repeat. Like always, i closed the round by the slipped stitch to the 1st stitch. After that for the ear the formula is Single Crochet (SC) - DC - 3 Treble Crochet (3TC) - DC - SC then 8 slipped stitch and do another ear. Slipped stitch then cut the yarn.

4TH

Next, i hid the left over yarn with the needle behind and in the stitches so you couldn't find it. And last i cut some left over yarn.

THE RESULT

Ta da, here it is...

Cute crochet bear coaster is finished. I could use it now. It matched my mug so well.

How do you think of it?

This project turned out very beautiful! congratulations! definitely having time for projects brings us back to glow. I love knowing that you made time to create a bear coaster. I love to dig into this type of coasters, but I always get holes in them, I don't know if it's because of the yarns I use or the needle size, it's something I haven't figured out yet haha.

Thanks a lot.. maybe the hook size you used only didn't match with the yarn. Don't give up, try more and more!

The bear coaster is so beautiful my dear.
