NEEDLE WORK MONDAY: MAKING A TWO COLOURED HAIR BONNET

in NeedleWorkMonday16 days ago

Hello everyone
Good evening to you all
It's a new week and I hope you all are faring well
I'm thrilled as usual to share a post in this lovely community

Today, I want to share with you the steps I used in making this two coloured hair bonnet for myself using bridal satin.

One good advantage of this kind of bonnet is the doubled colour. The fact that you can choose a particular colour to suit your particular home dress .
I choosed the brown because it suits my skin and I get lots of compliments when I make a brown hair so I thought a brown bonnet will look good on me and then a blue color because it's one of my favorites

These are the materials I used in making the bonnet;

  • Half yard of Blue bridal satin material
  • Half yard of Brown bridal satin material
  • One inch elastic ( one yard)
And these are the steps I used in making it:

Firstly, since I was using half yards of satin and it won't be enough to create a big round size which I'll be using to sew the bonnet, I had to cut the material and then still joined it together by sewing, I did same on the two colour of material

I used a round rubber to mark on the blue material and then extended the circle by 7 inches to create a wider circle

After then I used my scissors to cut out using the line of the wider circle and then got to this. The sun is causing the photos to change in colours, it's the same material

After here, I placed the blue material on my brown material and cut out the same size

At this point, I picked the two materials and sew them together and then left a small space so that I can pull out the front side through there

After turning the material, this is what I got

Here, I used my tape to measure all round from the edge of the material( 2 inched for the first like and 3 inches for the second line)
I sew round for the inner line and then the other line I sew and then kept a space of which I'll be passing the elastic through

At this point, I inserted my elastic into my safety pin and passed the elastic through the material and pulled it to my head size

After getting my size , I sew the elastic together and then adjusted it inside and did some finishing work like closing the space I used in passing the elastic in .

After the whole process, this is what I got

My beautiful bonnet was ready to be worn , both colours were beautifully done.

I hope I tried on my first attempt
Thank you so much for stopping by, I'll really appreciate you comments and supports
Bye to you all
