RE: NEXT GOAL ON MY BUCKET LIST!

Thank you @greensandpinks for sharing your story to me. I was just wondering if making a blouse pattern, would you write it in different sizes? Have you tried purchasing a pattern of crochet wearables? Did the seller let you choose what size of the final wearables does the pattern should be?

Yeah, I'm also thinking of buying a pattern for wearables myself so I could know how things should be done. Thank you so much for your comment and taking time to read my post. God bless you @greensandpinks 🥰

Sort:

Yes, everything I purchased that needed different sizes (clothing, baby booties, etc.) would give the pattern for the smallest size, then in brackets [] the other sizes. Before starting, it would state the needed materials (including the suggested hook size), the sizes (like small, medium, large), the finished sizes (in inches or other measurement) and the gauges (like 13 sc = 2"; 7 sc rows = 3/4", etc.), and finally any additional notes for anything that may be a bit different than typical.

Then the pattern starts. An example of one of the rows could be: Rows 10-129 [10-137, 10-153, 10-161]: Working this row in back lps, ch 1, sc in each stitch across (75) [83, 91, 96].

What that means is there are four sizes. The first size is rows 10-129, the second size has more rows as you go through rows 10-137, the second has 153 rows, and the 4th size has 161 rows. At the end of those rows, you have the number of stiches at the end: 75, 83, 91, 96. In this case, no stitches were added, just rows.

Sometimes it's how many stiches you may add or start with. For example, Row 1: Ch 97 [101, 105], sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across, turn (96 sc) [100 sc, 104 sc].

This one has three sizes, and the only difference is the number of stitches in the row.

Wow, so very detailed. 😯 Thank you so much for these info @greensandpinks. It will help me a lot in making a pattern.

Good thing I had it posted it here. So I could able to collect some tips in making a pattern like what you did. Very thank you from the bottom of my heart. 🥰

By the way, I made a screenshot of your comment so I could read it again anytime. 😊 God bless you.

I'm good at reading patterns, not creating them (since I am not creative enough to create something unique enough to create a pattern), so if you have any questions on how the pattern should read and look, let me know.

Oh wow, thank you so much. 😍 You'll be my advicer then. I'm so happy. 🥰

But I don't believe that you're not creative enough to create something unique. It's just that you didn't give it a try. And I guess everyone is capable of doing something. It's the mindset that we have to change. (And I'm telling this also to myself. 😅)
