Contemplar el atardecer a orillas del mar es una de las experiencias más maravillosas que existe, según mi opinión personal. Observar como el sol se va ocultando, simulando como que se está hundiendo en el océano es todo un espectáculo. En esta publicación les comparto como pude bordar mi paisaje favorito en un pequeño trozo de tela usando la técnica de punto de cruz.

Watching the sunset by the sea is one of the most wonderful experiences there is, in my personal opinion. Watching the sun go down, as if it were sinking into the ocean, is a spectacle. In this post I share with you how I was able to embroider my favorite landscape on a small piece of fabric using the cross stitch technique.

Como ya les he contado en publicaciones anteriores, he decido retomar el bordado en punto de cruz. Decidí iniciar este reencuentro con esta bonita técnica elaborando proyectos muy simples con patrones bastantes sencillos. En esta ocasión les muestro este boceto de paisaje de un atardecer en el mar. El patrón lo encontré en Pinterest, pero le hice una modificación para hacerlo mucho más simple.

As I have told you in previous publications, I have decided to take up cross stitch embroidery again. I decided to start this reencounter with this beautiful technique by making very simple projects with very simple patterns. This time I show you this landscape sketch of a sunset at the sea. I found the pattern on Pinterest, but I made a modification to make it much simpler.

En esta oportunidad practiqué un poco como lograr un degradado de colores usando tonos diferentes de un mismo color. Esto se puede observar en el sol, que tiene un tono de amarillo claro y un tono más intenso en el borde. Es importante hacer este tipo de cambios de color para darle profundidad, luz y sombras a las imágenes que queremos plasmar en el bordado. Resulta casi como colorear, solo que se realiza con hilos.

This time I practiced a little bit how to achieve a color gradient using different shades of the same color. This can be seen in the sun, which has a light yellow tone and a more intense tone at the edge. It is important to make this kind of color changes to give depth, light and shadows to the images we want to embroider. It is almost like coloring, only that it is done with threads.

Retomar el bordado en punto de cruz me ha hecho recordar mis inicios cuando bordaba el ajuar de cuna para mi primer hijo. En ese entonces apenas estaba aprendiendo y no prestaba mucha atención a los detalles, jugaba con los colores de los patrones y los cambiaba a mi antojo. Ahora entiendo que hay cosas que no podemos modificar en un patrón porque cada pixel está pensado para que la figura quede perfecta.

Taking up cross stitch embroidery has made me remember my beginnings when I embroidered the crib linens for my first child. At that time I was just learning and did not pay much attention to details, I played with the colors of the patterns and changed them as I pleased. Now I understand that there are things that we cannot modify in a pattern because each pixel is designed to make the figure perfect.

Estoy muy emocionada con estas practicas y pequeños proyectos porque sé que me llevaran a intentar proyectos mucho más grandes y complejos. Por ahora seguiré elaborando estos pequeños cuadritos para luego ensamblarlos en un proyecto un poco más elaborado. Por ahora me despido hasta una nueva publicación.
