Hello creative friends! I'm back in the community with a lot of excitement to share with you my progress on the new project I started this week.
My new project is a nativity scene made with the amigurumi technique of which I have already knitted a first piece, which lacks some details. In this publication I will share with you the most important character of the crib: the baby Jesus.
Although at the beginning when I started this project, I proposed to knit the baby Jesus after knitting all the other characters, since it is customary to place the baby in the manger just on Christmas Eve. However, I was anxious to see this character already finished, since I think he is the cutest and most tender of all. So I didn't hesitate any longer and I started knitting.
Although he is the smallest character in the manger, the baby Jesus includes other pieces such as the basket where he is lying and the piece that simulates dry straw. The elaboration of the basket was actually very entertaining since I used different stitches than the ones usually used when weaving amigurumis. To achieve the texture of a basket I used the right and purl stitch. I was surprised how much I learned with just this small piece.

The elaboration of the little boy was quite simple, as it is a very simple and minimalist design, which I liked very much. I was very excited to see the final result, it seemed to me a very tender and delicate baby. I'm really excited about this project, and very anxious to see each character finished, so I'm dedicating most of my free time to this project. I will continue to share my progress with you soon.
