Hello, hello beautiful and creative people of NeedleWorkMonday, it is very nice to greet you again. On Monday I was not able to participate in our Needlework Monday, but today I am very happy to share with you the progress of my new project for this coming Christmas.
In a previous post I told you that I have proposed to make a nativity scene with the amigurumi technique. I already shared with you how I made the base of the body that I will use for almost all the characters. In this post I show you how I knitted the accessories and the outfit to give life to Saint Joseph.
Cabe mencionar que San José es patrono de los artesanos, así que fue muy grato y emotivo trabajar en este personaje.
As we all know, St. Joseph was the adoptive father of Jesus, in charge of his safety and responsible for his education in his first years of life. From his father, Jesus learned the carpenter's trade among many other things typical of the customs and traditions of the Hebrew people. Therefore, St. Joseph is an important and very relevant character in this story and in this beautiful scene that I am trying to recreate.
It is worth mentioning that Saint Joseph is the patron saint of artisans, so it was very gratifying and emotional to work on this character.
With the base body already elaborated, it remained to weave the hair, beard, mantle, tunic and staff. All these pieces were easy to make following the instructions in the video tutorial I mentioned earlier. However, I took the creative liberty of changing some details such as the colors of the costume and the design of the eyes. In this case I chose to use safety eyes because I still don't have much practice with embroidery.
The most exciting and fun part was to attach each element to the body and see how the character was being formed. I must admit that there are some details in the face that I want to improve, that's why they are not fixed in a definitive way, I'm confident that I will be able to improve them.
I'm really enjoying this process of creating this important scene and each of its characters. Soon I will be sharing with you the next advances. For now I say goodbye, wishing you a nice and blessed day. Thanks for reading, greetings and blessings.
