Good start of the week, needlework Monday friends, I hope you are feeling well. I woke up very late and the weather today is as if we were in the lobby of the gates of hell, plus I'm exhausted from last night's carnival, but happy. And although what I come to tell you today is a bit bittersweet, I chose to keep the best of what is happening and let things and emotions that do not add up in my mind, nor to the group, nor to the month of celebration.

Buen comienzo de semana, amigos de needlework Monday, espero que se encuentren muy bien. Me he despertado tardísimo y el clima hoy es como si fuésemos el lobby de las puertas del infierno,además estoy agotada de la noche de ayer en carnaval, pero feliz. Y aunque lo que vengo a contarles hoy es un poco agridulce, elegí quedarme con lo mejor de lo que está ocurriendo y dejar pasar cosas y emociones que no suman ni en mi mente, ni al grupo, ni al mes de celebración.

A few weeks ago I showed you the suit, as I received it in this post and showed you what I would have to improve . I added some things, moved some things around, and sewed all the appliqués they had seen me embroider throughout the year on her back. My distrust with the new suit, bought, paid for, and that it was too small for me was gigantic but I was not going to let it defeat me and I set to work without rest. I sewed day and night, early mornings and even on the bus going to the first outing. It was all a bit out of control, but we'll keep each other company because we know that the week before is like that, it's always like that. It doesn't matter if you're on time with your own outfit, there's always something to sew, no matter when you read this. Hahaha

Hace unas semanas les mostré el traje, tal y como lo recibí en [este post](https://peakd.com/hive-127911/@littlesorceress/nwm-the-odyssey-of-february--an-endless-suit-has-to-be-ready-in-5-days-eng-esp-un-traje-inconcluso-tiene-que-estar-listo-en-5-d) y les mostré lo que tendría que mejorar . Le fui agregando algunas cosas, otras cambiaron de lugar y cosí todos los apliques que me vieron bordar a lo largo del año en su espalda. Mi desconfianza con el traje nuevo, comprado, pagado, y que me quedara chico era gigante pero no iba a dejar que me venciera y me puse a la obra sin descanso. Cosí día y noche, madrugadas e incluso en el micro yendo a la primera salida. Todo fue un poco descontrolado, pero entre nosotros nos acompañaremos porque sabemos que la semana previa es así, siempre es así. No importa si llegas bien de tiempo con tu propio traje, siempre hay algo para coser, no importa cuando leas esto. Jajaja

Before the first presentation everything went quite well, I had the costume complete, ready and received compliments for the chosen decoration. I understood that the little uncomfortable in the suit was only for me, the rest looks pretty good. Now, to my surprise, after the first weekend, the unexpected happened. Some parts started to unpick in a brutal way. That is to say, specific parts, the joint at the armpits, and the shoulder where the strap that holds the bass drum passes, for example.

Antes de la primera presentación estuvo todo bastante bien, tenía el traje completo, listo y recibí elogios por la decoración elegida. Entendí que lo poco incómodo en el traje solo era para mi, el resto lo ve bastante bien. Ahora, para mi sorpresa, después del primer finde, ocurrió lo inesperado. Algunas partes empezaron a descoserse de manera brutal. Es decir, partes puntuales, la unión en las axilas, y el hombro donde pasa la correa que sostiene al bombo, por ejemplo.
I remember perfectly well telling the seamstress that the suit carries heavy things on it, that it needed reinforcements in some parts and I even took the interlining to tell her how to do it, according to my inexperienced mind. I want to explain myself well at this point, I really am inexperienced, but I brought options and ideas, and they gave me something without any reinforcement. I am incredulous, it could be a joke but it is not. I decided to put some fabric patches that adhere with heat and solve the shoulder reinforcement that way. In the armpits I just did a lot of stitching and knotted well because they will probably open up again. It is clear that the area accommodates all the weight of the back because it is very loose in the front.

Recuerdo perfectamente decirle a la modista que el traje lleva cosas pesadas sobre él, que necesitaba refuerzos en algunas partes y hasta le lleve la entretela para decirle cómo hacerlo, según mi mente inexperta. Quiero explicarme bien en este punto, yo realmente soy inexperta, pero lleve opciones e ideas, y me dieron algo sin refuerzo alguno. Estoy incrédula, podría ser un chiste pero no lo es. Decidí ponerle unos parches de tela que se adhieren con calor y resolver de esa manera el refuerzo del hombro. En las axilas solo hice muchas costuras y anude bien porque seguramente vuelvan a abrirse. Está claro que la zona aloja todo el peso de la espalda porque me queda muy suelto de adelante.

Well, continuing with the pants, I must confess that I didn't know how it was going to turn out with the colors I added, and it was very good, but it lacks luster and that is something I plan to solve this week. But I was also surprised at the seams the bangs have, while these tend to snag and pull a bit, when they are sewn so 'loosely' they get much looser. I have been cutting bangs almost 30 cm stretched, which makes me think that they are not going to resist too much and adding glitter may solve this issue a bit.

Bueno, continuando con el pantalón, debo confesar que no sabía que iba a resultar con los colores que añadí, y estuvo muy bien, pero le falta brillo y eso es algo que tengo planeado resolver esta semana. Pero también me sorprendí de las costuras que tienen los flecos, si bien estos suelen engancharse y tirar un poco, cuando están cosidos tan 'flojos' se sueltan mucho más. He estado cortando flecos de casi 30 cm estirados, lo que me hace pensar que no van a resistir demasiado y agregarle brillo puede resolver un poco esta cuestión.

As for the rest of the suit, well, acceptable, it is not comfortable and these hot days the sleeves felt like a prison, and I just noticed that the cuffs are fading (the purple tape is kind of fuzzy) but also get dirty, although it is a minor problem because a little soap and water will solve it since the acetate does not stain so easily. I accompany this post with a photo that was sent to me where you can see my suit from behind, and although it is at night and it does shine, I would like to add more colors and life with glitter.

Por el resto del traje, bueno, aceptable, no es cómodo y estos días de calor las mangas se sintieron como una prisión, y justamente note que los puños están descosiendose (la cinta violeta esta como despeluchada) sino que también se ensucian por demás, aunque es un problema menor porque un poco de agua y jabón lo resuelven ya que el acetato no se mancha tan fácil. Acompaño este post con una foto que me enviaron donde se ve mi traje por detrás, y aunque es de noche y sí brilla, quisiera añadir más colores y vida con brillos.

Y bueno amigas, hoy me desperté tarde por lo que no ha podido ser de otra manera, pero esta semana me espera lavar el traje otra vez con sumo cuidado por las costuras hechas a mano, y seguir cosiendo aunque ya sin tanto apuro, solo es la idea poder mejorar aún más la decoración del traje, y por eso mismo decidí quedarme con lo bueno del carnaval, el cansancio del lunes merece todo el esfuerzo y la felicidad, aunque el traje no está como yo quisiera.
