Here is how far I have come in sewing my sister's outfits, I should be done with this by evening and as it is our usual habit to visit each other on weekends, she will be coming around to my house on Sunday and that's when I will gifting her this surprise outfits
Having lost weight drastically like myself although hers has been as a result of raising children. Some mother's often times do not find it easy to raise children doing the house chores and getting everything done successfully without loosing weight.
Mother's stay and work late into the night while everyone else is sleeping, they make sure to place everything in order before going to bed.
Been unable to measure her current size because I didn't want her to know about this dress I have been careful in making this, saving some extra seam allowances in the dress just in case I was wrong with the guessed measurements.
Some seamstress are so good that they can determine your size and measurements by mere looking at you.
I feel very delighted with my choice of fabrics and how I have chosen to sew a flair dress Just look at how the flowery pattern sits well all across the dress. Having made sure that I also cut the front bodice with a flower pattern that sits right across the chest.
There was a special lace I had wanted to purchase for the yoke but it wasn't available. I wasn't too happy when I got this one but eventually it has proved it's worth.
I regretted buying it initially but it now looked so good on the dress.
Some fabrics are never attractive until we take them home and work with them, thesame has been the case with the lace net.
Cutting the fabric otherwise wouldn't have giving me this beauty.
The sleeves are equally ready to be fixed and I am about putting in the last sets of finishing touches.
I haven't had any challenge sewing this dress except for the irregular power supply. With the sewing progress I have made so far of the dress I ought to iron out some parts very flat before continuing with work but since that is not possible I have learnt to sew without light and try as much as I can to have neatly sewn clothes that it wouldn't be too obvious that I didn't iron them.
Overtime I wish to own an Electric iron that possibly uses another source of power supply rather than electricity. A solar iron will be really expensive, I can't say if there is anything like that yet, maybe @terganftp will have an idea
Sewing this dress gave me so much joy because I am making a special gift for a special person who has sacrificed so much for myself and my siblings.

Wow! This is beautiful. Finally the dress is ready. I could remember you saying you were going to make a dress for your sister few days ago. You are so fast in sewing. She is sure going to love this.
Fast in sewing 😂😂😂 I could make at least 2 of this in a day but too many engagement has dragged this for long. I should finish this up and be ready to present this tomorrow.
I love those fabrics and the dresses you make, how much I would like to get fabrics like that in my country. Thank you for sharing your work.🫶🤗
Awwwn...I'm happy that you like this. Where is your country dear

Loving the details.
Thanks love
The dress turned out beautifully! I like how you placed the fabric to have the yellow colour pop out from the green background on the chest, also the black lines highlighting the white leaves blend well with the black sleeves. She will definitely love this dress.🌟
Yes dearie.
Thank you so much dear.
I meant to reply to this long ago.
However, good job on the clothing. Looks great.
As for a solar clothes iron. Doesn't exist and would be a terrible idea. Heating coils use way too much electricity -- far more than would be feasible using solar electric. If I had to show you the environmentally friendly version ..well... I don't think it would be something you'd want to use but here it is :

you put hot coals into the iron and that heats it up. Old timey people were inventive when they didn't have electricity.
Not saying its a good idea but is AN idea :)

I totally understand how busy we can get both online and offline and sometimes it's difficult to keep up posts and comments.
I do have that hot coal iron when I started working. It is still available and I use it when I desperately need to iron and there is no power supply.
But these days we have alot to do and do not have the luxury of time to fan coal for work.
