Hello Hive
This way I have ended up creating and sewing more and more clothes for myself and friends when they bring their fabrics; this equally helps me to practice more. I have made this off-shoulder blouse for myself for a while now and have never worn it.
Sometimes after I finish making a design, I just feel like they are not as beautiful as how I wished them to be. The idea may have been a creative one, but after making it, I just don't feel that way anymore, hence I end up not wearing some of the clothes I make or gifting them out to people.
My niece clocked 3 years just a few days ago; she is the only one sharing the same birth month with me. I have been really fond of her ever since she was born, and watching her grow has taught me a lot about motherhood and parenting.
I was practically involved in raising her up from day one, and watching her grow was a beauty. Right from when she was barely a few months old, I have used her to practice and learn how to grow children's clothes. I was always afraid of making baby clothes because of their small size, but I have used my niece to practice all along until I got better with sewing children's clothes and their tiny measurements.
I made it a tradition to create a memory for them on every birthday, even if there are no cakes. My babies get to snap some pictures in a new outfit, and we compare their growth with the previous years.
Last week I completely forgot the birthday date as I have been engaged in a lot of activities these days with farm work and others.
She came visiting and told me that
"Aunty, I am doing birthday today."
I was not surprised because her mom must have sang her the birthday song and prayed for her even though she is just 3 years old.
Having reminded me, I could only bless her with snacks and promised that the gift would come later.
Since I didn't have any fabric to make an outfit for her and it's not a favorable time to purchase some either, I found this blouse and decided to make use of it. Since she is still small, my blouse can make her a dress.
What type of dress can I make?
First ripped off the seam
Wanted to make a flair dress but decided against it since the fabric won't be enough.
I had cut out a simple A-line dress.
I removed the cape of my blouse and sewed it around the hem of the dress for her.
Fabric was exhausted, but I can match this with a plain black fabric that I had used for the sleeve.
Fixed in an elastic band, and my niece's dress is ready. Any moments she comes around
I have at least a birthday dress waiting, and we can snap the picture to keep and mark my baby at 3 years of age. 🥂💕

This transformation is a success! I really liked how you marked the silhouette to be sewn on the shirt, without being too complicated. Congratulations on the beautiful result! 💖
Thank you so much dearie
Hi Monica, how nice that you were able to take advantage of this project for a new outfit for your niece. No doubt seeing them grow is very nice and working with small sizes too. I send you greetings, happy Tuesday 💞

I love how the dress turned out. The things you learn to do in a time of crisis. I'm sure it will look great on your niece, I hope she likes it too. Good job, greetings and blessings to you and your baby.
This is so adorable (her broad smile says it all) and you are doing a great job with your niece.💕✨
