Needlework: My first try to make my self a trouser and my experience.

complement of the season, my co-needleworker

How are you all doing today? I hope everything is going great, and if you ask about me, I am doing pretty well.

I am very happy to share a post here with you guys today. Today I am sharing with you guys how I make a trouser for myself and some experiences I face during the project.

I choose to make myself a trouser because, most of the time, when I give my clothes to tailors, they don't always give me what I want. The last time I gave someone my clothes to sew for me, three different materials were used to sew me a trouser, and none were okay for me, and until today I didn't wear any of them because they did not pass me at all. So since then, I have been buying ready-made trousers from the market.

I chose to learn some videos on YouTube on how to cut and sew a trouser, and I see it as simple. Since I know how to sew very well, I chose to give it a try to see if I could make myself a trouser, and here is the outcome of it.

Here is the material I am going to use.

I did not go for a material that is costly; I go for something cheap since I am trying to sew a trouser for the first time.

Let's look at some steps I follow.

I use YouTube videos to learn everything.

I keep the video close to me when I start the cuttings, and I make sure I follow it very well.

Firstly, I took my measurements and then wrote them down.

I folded the material into two and marked out the wrong side so that I would not get confused.
From the edge of the folded material, I mark my waist measurement, divided by four.

Then, from the waist, I measured out the crutch length from the waist, i.e., the hip measurement divided by 4. I also mark out the kneel line, the full length, and the bending allowance at the arm.
After that, I then make a horizontal line at each point I make and also add 2.5 inches to the crush line to achieve my crush extension.

After that, I then make my curve from the waist to the arm and also my crush curve. I also slackened the waist by 1 inches.

I finally cut it out to get the front trouser.

I then place the front on top of the material to get the back side. I added 2 inches of allowance for sewing and 3 inches of crushed extension, and I added 2 inches at the waist for dat.

After that, I cut it out.

Finally, I am done with the cutting, and here are the back and front cuts.

I proceed to sew.

I first of all put the back pucket. I watch the video on YouTube, and I was able to put it very successfully.

I then sew the side pucker, and I also watch on YouTube how this is being done.

I then put the zip; I also learned from YouTube, and it was very successful.

I finally joined the front and the back to get my trousers ready, and here is the outcome of it.

After that, I put the waistband on and wore it.

During this process, I discover why, most of the time, they spoil my trousers. My hip measurement is bigger than my waist. In the trouser, I used the waist for measurements, and I used that, but the trouser did not enter me well. Therefore, in my next try, I will make sure I used hips for my waist measurement.

I hope I try for the first time.
