Today I want to show you this beautiful boy's boxer that I made for my nephew Andres. He is soon to start classes in 1st grade, so I want to give it to him as a gift so he can wear it for the first time in this new beginning for him. I know he will be happy when I give it to him 🥰
Like every child he is very funny, innocent, loving and loves gifts 😂 so I made it with a lot of pleasure and I was surprised that I finished relatively fast 😅 in 2 hours.
I made it by combining boy print fabric on the front and aquamarine blue unicolor on the back. I would have liked the back to have been dark because kids are always playing and it's normal for them to stain or dirty their clothes quickly, but I didn't have any. Despite this, I didn't hold back on sewing this cute size 6 boxer.

Hoy quiero mostrarles este hermoso bóxer de niño que le hice a mi sobrino Andrés. Él está pronto a iniciar las clases en 1.er grado, por eso deseo dárselo como regalo para que lo estrene en este nuevo comienzo para él. Sé que se pondrá feliz cuando se lo entregue 🥰
Como todo niño es muy divertido, inocente, cariñoso y le encantan los regalos 😂 así que lo hice con mucho gusto y me sorprendió que termine relativamente rápido 😅 en 2 horas.
Lo realicé combinando tela estampada para varón en el delantero y unicolor azul aguamarina en el trasero. Me hubiera gustado que la parte de atrás hubiera sido oscura, pues, los niños siempre juegan y es normal que manchen o ensucien rápido su ropita, pero no tenía. A pesar de esto, no me detuve en coser este bonito bóxer talla 6.
Materials I used:
- Micro Peach printed and unicolor fabric.
- Rubber band or elastic
- White thread
- Sewing machine
Materiales que usé:
- Tela Micro Durazno estampada y unicolor
- Goma o elástica
- Hilo blanco
- Máquina de coser
I cut according to the pattern: 2 pieces for the front (remember not to do it to the fold as they need to be separated to then face each other. I tell you because I almost forgot 🙈), 1 back piece (this one with the fold) and two for the center.
Corté según el patrón: 2 piezas para el delantero (recuerda no hacerlo al doblez pues se necesita que sean separadas para luego enfrentarlas. Te digo porque yo casi lo olvido 🙈), 1 pieza trasera (esta si al doblez) y dos para el centro.
I then face the two pieces and join by the protruding flange. I sew with straight and zigzag. Then I stitch with straight.
Paso a enfrentar las dos piezas y unir por la pestaña que sobresale. Coso con recta y zigzag. Luego repiso con recta.
I proceed to fix the center only with zigzag and stitch with straight. This can be done starting from one end to the other or start from the center to one side and then from the same center to the other. When trying the two ways, I prefer to do it from the second option because it is more evenly glued. I show it to you in the GIF.
I used to wonder why this centerpiece is double. Now I know that, according to the most experienced, the intimate part of a child should be well protected and supported.
Procedo a fijar el centro solo con zigzag y repiso con recta. Se puede hacer comenzando desde un extremo hasta el otro o empezar desde el centro hacia un lado y después desde el mismo centro hasta el otro. Al probar las dos formas, yo prefiero hacerlo desde la segunda opción, pues, queda pegado más uniforme. Te lo muestro en el GIF.
Antes me preguntaba porque esta pieza central es doble. Ahora sé que, según los más experimentados, la parte íntima de un niño debe quedar bien resguardada y sostenida.
We continue joining the sides with straight and zigzag. I like to double stitch the whole boxer to make sure that even if the child plays spiderman or climbs a tree, the boxer does not come undone.
Seguimos uniendo los laterales con recta y zigzag. Me gusta pasarle doble costura a todo el bóxer para asegurar que, aunque el niño juegue al hombre araña o se suba a un árbol, este no se descosa.
This time I decided to triple stitch the hem, so he will have more elasticity in the legs.
Esta vez decidí pasarle al ruedo la puntada de tres tiempos, así tendrá más elasticidad en las piernas.
Regarding the rubber, in the case of this piece it is very good the one that is wide, special for boxer. It can be fixed on the outside, as it is normally used in men's trousers, or on the inside, and it will remain in place when the trousers are reshaped. I like to do it this way in the case of children because it gives them more softness for their delicate skin.

Con respecto a la goma, en el caso de esta pieza es muy bueno la que es ancha, especial para bóxer. Se puede fijar por fuera, como normalmente vienen los de caballero o por dentro, y al repisar esta quedará guardada. Me gusta hacerlo así en el caso de los niños, pues, le da mayor suavidad para su piel delicada.
