Needlework Monday - DIY Christmas Ornament

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

This is one of the most fabulous Christmas ornaments I've created, I hope you guys like it!

I used a clear plastic globe, seed beads and glass faceted crystals. I used a strong Fireline thread to make sure my work will last for a long time. Those glass crystals are sharp inside and could cut the tread.

As you can see, I made a basic net with seed green beads and a larger size golden bead in between. After I finished the net and measured it around my globe to make sure it fits, I started to embellish the net by stitching a crystal inside each space. I finished all the net as a flat piece. When done, I connected the sides in a zigzag manner, so there is no visible seam.

I inserted my globe and connected all golden beads from the top part. As the globe was not covered completely, I decided to place a smaller crystal in between the golden beads, and that was a good decision, as my work was sitting perfectly on the top part of the globe. I finished the top part with a few rows of seed beads.

The bottom part is similar, but I had to do more seed beads rows to cover all the surface.

So here you have it! I posted this project on my social media and got a lot of requests to make a tutorial, and I will probably do it soon. It's very pretty and not too difficult to make.
