Good Monday to all our creative community!!! I hope this week has been productive for you and that you are doing well!
So I returned again to one of my longest projects - a lilac jacket.
When I first started knitting, I couldn’t even imagine that such a seemingly simple project would cause me so much trouble. It's been almost a year since I started this, but I still haven't finished it. This jacket is the biggest test of my patience and perseverance.
I had to completely redo the top because the openwork pattern was sagging and did not fit well on the shoulders. Then I probably untangled and re-knitted the sleeves 6 times. First I had to completely remove the openwork pattern and replace it with the simplest garter stitch. Then I couldn’t get the sleeve to fit nicely into the armhole and not puff up anywhere.
I don’t even know what kind of attempt it is to knit sleeves again.
And I don’t remember how many times I abandoned this project and picked it up again. In fact, it is constantly lying on my couch at my feet and I see it every time I lie on the couch. This periodically affects my conscience and I return to this knitting again. This time I again unraveled the sleeve almost halfway through the knitted fabric.
The width of the first sleeve did not suit me: it was too narrow. Therefore, I decided to add new loops more often at the ends of the row when knitting. The second sleeve is better in this regard, but I need to change the top since it did not fit into the armhole neckline.
This week I finished knitting the first sleeve. You can most likely imagine what I felt after everything when I tried to sew this sleeve to a jacket.
For the first time in all the time I worked on this sweater, the sleeve fit properly! I couldn't believe it!!!!!!
The second sleeve will be much easier to finish since I already has the desired shape as an example. I hope that this time there will be no problems with the second sleeve. Well, I really really hope so! I really like this yarn: soft, natural, delicate and I would very disappointed to quit my work and not finish it. Although from time to time I just wanted to do this! Now I really have hope that I will still be able to finish this sweater successfully and will be able to wear it when the cool weather comes.

Take care of yourself and be healthy!!!
Tali they say that good things take time!! And this project looks beautiful, step by step it is looking great. The sleeve looks very good ❤️
Oh my dear! you just shed balm on my heart. Thank you very much!
Wow........ Knitting is very sweet I guess, I wish I can knit, the jacket is nice and beautiful, you give out a beautiful sleeveless style, greetings.
thank you dear! I’m still trying to overcome this sweater and knit the sleeves. What do you like to do? sew?
I like the design on the jacket. And to think that you knitted those and in that shape is amazing. Hope you get it finished up someday soon.
I really hope so too. I want to finish the jacket even out of principle: it wasn’t this that defeated me, but I did it)))) Unfortunately, I didn’t get the openwork pattern right initially and because of this I wasted a lot of time. but the yarn is great in every way and I'm not going to give up
Yeah, since you now have a hang of it I believe it will be easier to make it the second time. It’s coming out well and I really like it.
you're right! the second time I will be especially attentive to openwork patterns if I decide to try one of them again for the shoulders and sleeves. experience is a great thing!
Alright
nice craft of sewing
thank you!!!!
You are welcome, my brother.
