Good Monday to all our creative community!!! I hope this week has been productive for you and that you are doing well!
Finally, I did a minor repair of clothes that should have been done a long time ago.
As you remember, after visiting the dentist, I bought an elastic band. I needed this for a house skirt. The elastic band that was stitched on the upper part was stretched on it. I decided to just pull the elastic on top so that the skirt would not fall off me. The top seam had to be opened first. It was too narrow for elastic bands.
The next step is to sew a wider hem on a sewing machine.
Now we retract the elastic band and voila - you're done! So simple! Impossible to be wrong! But not for me 😭 I still don't understand how I twisted the rubber band. I checked that the elastic was even. And it seemed to me that it was even. Only after I sewed both ends of the elastic together and put on a skirt, I noticed that the elastic was twisted inside😭😭😭
How many times have I reminded myself to be careful! Yes, I had to redo my work.
Now everything is correct! Home skirt is ready for the upcoming summer.
My house pants were next. These were wide in my stomach. Kind of a bad cut. We bought them when I was fuller and it wasn't as uncomfortable. But now the trousers were no good. I decided to sew it in along the center seam in front.
These are very old pants but the fabric of this one is natural and comfortable. I decided not to throw it away, but to use it for training in sewing.
That's how much fabric had to be removed. I had to remove some fabric from the inside seams too. Now the pants are more comfortable.
Repairing clothes is not my favorite job, so I need time to tune in to it. I try to do several at once so that it is not too annoying (when you need to do a lot at once), but on the other hand, since I am in the mood to do clothes repair, it means doing 2, 3 projects well. Now I can praise myself that I finally finished it! 😀

Take care of yourself and be healthy!!!
