Introduction

Hi needle artists. Let's meet again another #needleworkmonday.

You know that I have shared some of my original hand made embroidery works on quilt of my previous posts of #needleworkmonday. As usual today I will share with you an amazing design of quilt that I have made recently.

Materials used

  • Cloth (Purple, 100% Cotton)
  • Needle
  • Thread (Yellow colour, cotton)
  • Circular Frame
  • Scissor

Procedure

At usually I prepared the basic quilt from a bright purple colour cotton fabric with bright yellow colour threads.

You know that generally I draw the design first by a removable ink and then do my needle works in accordance to the borderlines drawn.

But this time I did not drawn the design because this design actually depends on the stitch.

This is a special type of stitch that's a derivatives of diamond design called jigjag cross stitch.

I will show you the procedure in eight steps of a single stitch as below.

Step-01

At first, put the needle from the backside of the cloth like the picture.

Step-02

Then make a medium length stitch, and on the same distance put again the needle from the backside of the cloth with 90° angle.

Step-03

Pass the needle below the thread of the first stitch as like as the picture.

Step-04

Pull the thread below the first stitch and make interlacing between two stitches.

Step-05

Put the needle parallel to the second stitch.

Step-06

End the third stitch at the same length of the second one

Step-07

Put the needle at the starting point of the fourth stitch and pull the thread.

Step-08

Make the thread tensionless straight to complete the first repeat.

Conclusion

By the repeatation of the process as I mentioned above in accordance to the design, I have done the quilt. It is a very sophisticated stitch. It requires extra care as if you make any distinguishing in length of stitches or in angles, it may look very odd.

The total quilt took about 18-19 days to complete, that's why I could not attend on the last week #needleworkmonday.

Finally I am very pleased completing this quilt and the design is really fantastic to me.

The stitch and the final design generate an inexplicable visual satisfaction haha. The colors you chose for the fabric and the thread create a very good contrast. Great project, congrats. Its beautiful. ❤️

I was just thinking about how should I explain the stitches, it's so tough to blog about the working procedure. As you find it inexplicable visual satisfaction, the feelings reading after that comment in my mind is also inexplicable.. lol

Thanks for your appraisal, always I passes a long time only thinking about the color selection. It is the most hard job in needlework for me.

Maybe you could make a little video showing how the stitch is made. But from my point of view of zero knowledge of embroidery, your explanation looks very clear. 😀

I'm totally un about creating videos. So trying my best in blogging. :)

I get it. I don't like videos either 😅.

Amazing handwork. The finished project was so beautiful and awesome. You are really an expert now when it comes to embroidery. Thanks for sharing your amazing talent to us. God bless you always.

Thanks for your wish. I am very much happy getting a lot of inspiration from all of you.

The dot looks like golden chains. It's really hard work. It was elegant.
Good vibes!

Yeah, the yellow threads are glittering such like golden chain. It seems that a golden chain is on the cloth.

Very nice congratulations your work and worth appreciating. Thanks for teaching in your post.

Thanks for your reply. I have tried my best to share with you. Your such type of comments are really motivating me.

That's a stunning result. The stitch seems to be a variant on chain stitch, but it looks like it sits flatter.

Thanks a lot. I am really inspired by all of your comments.

The stitch is may be termed as a variant of chain stitch, but the major difference is that, in case of chain stitch the second stitch passes between threads of first one. But here, the second one is just going down. That's why the outlook is also changed.

It looks like the finished work is glowing gold! 🤩

Very exquisite definition in your work! It’s a beautiful masterpiece. Very nicely designed ~

Thank you for explaining and showing the stitches step by step ~
