🇪🇸 ~ Estoy volviendo a los malos hábitos. Desde finales del mes pasado me gusta coser de noche con una taza de café y un paquete de galletas de chocolate mientras escucho algún canal de podcast fácil de seguir... todo mal, lo se, pero de noche tengo más ideas, más motivación, el día para mi actualmente es mas para los deberes y la rutina de todo lo necesario, no encuentro mucho espacio para los pasatiempos y menos para las ideas espontáneas.
🇺🇸 ~ I'm back to my bad habits. Since the end of last month, I like to sew at night with a cup of coffee and a box of chocolate chip cookies while listening to some easy-to-follow podcast channel... All bad, I know, but at night I have more ideas, more motivation, the day for me at the moment is more for homework and the routine of everything necessary, I don't find much room for hobbies and less for spontaneous ideas.
Mas de una vez he escrito sobre qué valioso es respetar las horas de sueño, tener una rutina de descanso, cuidar los ojos, coser con buena luz solar, y todavía pienso que todo eso es importante y lo mejor que podrías hacer por ti, pero qué dificil es irte a dormir cuando quieres hacer tantas cosas y tu mente no deja de pensar en lo divertido que sería resolver éste o aquel patrón de costura.
🇺🇸 ~ I've written more than once about how important it is to respect your sleep, to have a rest routine, to take care of your eyes, to sew in good sunlight, and I still think all of that is important and the best thing you can do for yourself, but how hard it is to go to sleep when you want to do so many things and your mind can't stop thinking about how much fun it would be to figure out this or that sewing pattern.

Hace bastante tiempo (y de eso también hemos conversado por aquí) quiero empezar a hacer mi propia ropa pero los últimos años han sido ocupados y la practicidad fue casi obligatoria. Para coser necesitas tiempo, y yo quiero hacer mi propia ropa con cariño, escoger concienzudamente las telas y sobre todo construir un repertorio con sentido, con personalidad.
For a long time (and we've talked about it here) I've wanted to start making my own clothes, but the last few years have been very busy and practicality was almost obligatory. Sewing takes time, and I want to make my own clothes with love, choose the fabrics conscientiously, and above all build a repertoire with meaning, with personality.

Un poco disgustada borré todo, disgustada porque te das cuenta del tiempo que ha pasado, que es bastante aunque tu sientas que han sido pocos meses, darte cuenta de lo mucho que aplazas las cosas que quieres por diferentes razones hasta que ha pasado tanto tiempo que has cambiado, ya no eres la misma persona y por eso el lenguaje de tu ropa, los colores que te gustan y la manera en que quieres sentirte han cambiado.
A little upset, I deleted everything, upset because you realize how much time has passed, which is quite a lot, even though you feel it's only been a few months, you realize how much you've put off doing the things you want for various reasons until so much time has passed that you've changed, you're not the same person anymore, and so the language of your clothes, the colors you like, and the way you want to feel has changed.
✦ I didn't even have time to iron it :( this was a quick sample, look how nice the straps look, I made a little buttonhole in the back so they can be tied, the excess hangs down ✦
✦ And with the scraps I was able to make a matching scrunchie! Sorry for my horrible manicure, this has been a very punk vibe week ✦

Este es un resumen escueto de una noche de costura muy tranquila, mi mejor amiga me regaló la tela del fondo de su vestido de 15 años (ella tiene 32 años así que esta tela además de tener un gran significado, ha sobrevivido en el tiempo unos 17 años) y yo quice convertirlo en algo que pueda usar en un día casual.
Es un diseño que hice sin utilizar patrones guía y lo corte sin calcular nada mas que el contorno de mi pecho, quice darme un voto de confianza y ver qué tan rápido podía terminarlo y qué tan bien o mal quedaría el resultado.
No tiene pinzas, no entalla la figura, y su silueta es cuadrada, no aprieta y es una sola pieza sin necesidad de cierre.
Quiero replicarlo en telas mas suaves y combinables; mi idea para este vestido con este color tan especial es usarlo con medias negras, mocasines, y una blusa negra manga larga, cuando complete el conjunto lo compartiré por aquí.
This is a short summary of a very quiet night of sewing, my best friend gave me the fabric from the bottom of her 15 year old dress (she is 32 years old, so this fabric besides having a great meaning, has survived in time about 17 years) and I wanted to turn it into something I could wear on a casual day.
It's a design I made without pattern guides and I cut it without calculating anything other than the contour of my chest, I wanted to give myself a vote of confidence and see how fast I could finish it and how good or bad the result would be.
It has no darts, it doesn't hug the figure, and its silhouette is square, not tight, and it's one piece with no fastener.
I want to replicate it in softer and more combinable fabrics; my idea for this dress with this particular color is to wear it with black tights, loafers and a black long sleeve blouse, when I complete the outfit I will share it here.

La noche es el mejor momento para concentrarse y coser, pero si no tuviste un dia muy cansador, sino estás medio somnolienta jajajjaa. Hermoso este vestidito, 17 años después esta tela se transformó en este lindo oufit. Me gusta, aunque con esos volados hay que tener cuidado con el viento 😅. Y a scrunchie a juego es muy buena también. Felicitaciones ❤️
También tengo esa manía de coser de noche, siento que a esa hora nadie me molesta y puedo coser con tranquilidad, mientras más sola esté más ideas surgen, ja ja, lo único que en la actualidad ya me está afectando la vista 🤓
