Don’t worry—it's just a friendly Coco-Ghost! I crocheted my daughter’s favourite imaginary character, Coco-Ghost, which she has been obsessed with since she was five. She used to draw all kinds of Coco-Ghosts, so I chose one of her designs to bring to life with crochet. Now, she can see and hold her little character just like she always imagined.
This one is the coco-ghost drinking a coco in a mug.
This was fun to do and gave us giggles. I winged every step, so I can't give you an exact pattern.
But here it is.
I mainly used white cotton DK yarn and a 4mm hook for the head/body. Plus assorted types of excess yarns for accessories.
I started with a magic ring.
Then, I did a single crochet throughout, increasing the stitches until I was happy with the size.
Then, I continued to add height.
Then, I created a frilly edge at the bottom.
I made a lid.
I stuffed the body/head.
I sewed the lid to keep the stuffing in.
For the arms/hands, I used a magic ring and double crochet throughout, increasing and then decreasing the stitches to create a ball shape.
For the eyes, I crocheted using leftover yarns in a few colours with a small 2.5mm hook.
One eye is bigger than the other, just like in her drawing!
Then, I secured and attached it to the head.
I embroidered the pink lips.
Then, the light pink blush.
She's got a cute face!
Now, for the chocolate drip!
I did three single crochet in the next four stitches, then chained three. Starting from the second chain from the hook, I worked back up with one single crochet and one half double crochet, slip-stitching to the next stitch on the cap base (adjusting stitches for varied drip sizes).
It fits perfectly on the head.
For the mug of cocoa.
I used single and double crochet, creating a textured bottom edge.
Then, I filled it up!
And gave it to the ghost.
She loves it!
Let's see if she's scary.
Eeeek! Funny scary, don't you think?
Finally, Coco-Ghost is chilling with the pumpkins! My daughter was so happy to see and hold her little character just as she imagined.
Let's give her mouth a wipe for a quick pose.
Have a wonderful needleworking Monday, everyone!
