Feliz lunes a todos 😊 otro lunes nos trae a esta gran comunidad, coser es una herramienta muy útil, todo lo que podemos hacer con nuestras manos es increíble, y poder hacer de eso algo para quienes queremos es gratificante, creo que la vida está llena de etapas, no creo en llegar a la meta, sino que es una carrera con muchas metas, donde cada cosa nueva que queremos construir para nosotros mismos se va sumando en esta gran carrera. Correr no es fácil y a veces vamos a necesitar de mucha ayuda para llegar, pero también estar super preparados y esas preparaciones se construyen a lo largo del tiempo, creo que en este punto de mi carrera de vida estoy en una nueva meta, es nueva y pequeña, pero estoy lista para dar ese gran paso, casi un salto con lo que quiero hacer.
Happy Monday everyone 😊 another Monday brings us to this great community, sewing is a very useful tool, everything we can do with our hands is amazing, and being able to make something of it for those we love is rewarding, I think life is full of stages, I don't believe in reaching the goal, but rather it is a race with many goals, where each new thing we want to build for ourselves is added up in this great race. Running is not easy and sometimes we are going to need a lot of help to get there, but also to be super prepared and those preparations are built over time, I think at this point in my life race I am at a new goal, it is new and small, but I am ready to take that big step, almost a leap with what I want to do.
Coser y vivir de eso es un sueño desde que tengo memoria, cuando era muy chiquita una vez me regalaron para reyen una mini máquina de coser, era difícil coser con eso pero así le hacía ropa a mis barbies, a las de mis amigas y cosía las medias de mis hermanos jajajaja, tengo muy buenos recuerdos de eso, con el tiempo me olvide de eso, pero después de mucha terapia ese sueño volvió y empecé un gran camino para hacer de eso mi sustento, porque no quiero otra cosa en la vida, cada vez que lo pienso estoy segura, y déjenme decirles que yo no suelo estar segura de nada.
Sewing and making a living from it has been a dream for as long as I can remember. When I was very little, they once gave me a mini sewing machine for a king. It was difficult to sew with it, but that's how I made clothes for my barbies and my friends' dolls, and I sewed my brothers' socks. Hahaha. I have very good memories of that. Over time I forgot about it, but after a lot of therapy that dream came back and I started a great path to make that my livelihood, because I don't want anything else in life. Every time I think about it, I'm sure, and let me tell you that I'm not usually sure of anything.
Con la llegada de BYD mi emprendimiento con amigos esa posibilidad se empezó a hacer real, el emprendimiento lleva un año ya, y la cosas que yo cosí para el emprendimiento fueron 0 jajajja pero fue el miedo el que me gano en esa ocasión, el creer que no voy a ser suficiente, pero las cosas están cambiando y muchas veces la gente me ve con prendas que cuando cuento que yo las hice las sorprende, esa validación externa me da la seguridad de que lo estoy haciendo bien, y que quizás es momento de probar y coser cosas para mi emprendimiento, es el momento para tomar las riendas y hacer algo.
With the arrival of BYD, my business with friends, that possibility began to become real, the business has been going on for a year now, and the things that I sewed for the business were 0 hahaha but it was fear that got the better of me on that occasion, believing that I was not going to be enough, but things are changing and many times people see me with clothes that when I tell them that I made them they are surprised, that external validation gives me the assurance that I am doing well, and that maybe it is time to try and sew things for my business, it is time to take the reins and do something.
Empecé con algo simple y que me gusta mucho, un top en tejido de punto, para estoy usando tela sobrante de mis otros proyectos, en este top use un broderie elastizado que tenia de una camiseta que había hecho por encargo.
I started with something simple that I really like, a knit top. I'm using leftover fabric from my other projects. For this top I used an elastic embroidery piece that I had from a t-shirt I had made to order.
Modifique un molde que tenia de una base en talle 44, este molde lo hice en 2023 para una clase de la facultad, mucho de lo que aprendí ese año me ayudo a mejorar mis procesos a la hora de producir moldes y transformaciones en mis prendas, así que tome eso para hacerlo.
I modified a pattern I had for a size 44 base. I made this pattern in 2023 for a college class. Much of what I learned that year helped me improve my processes when producing patterns and transformations in my garments, so I took that into account.
Transforme un poco desde el cuello, la idea es que sea un top sin mangas así que así será, pero seguí la curvatura que tenía la sisa, es casi como hacer el inicio de una manga ranglan, pero no hacemos nada en la manga, pienso que podría ser una buena idea hacer un top manga ranglan también, pero eso será en otra ocasión. La espalda se acordona así que es solo sacar media espalda.
I transformed it a little from the neckline, the idea is for it to be a sleeveless top so that's what it will be, but I followed the curve of the armhole, it's almost like making the start of a raglan sleeve, but we don't do anything on the sleeve, I think it might be a good idea to make a raglan sleeve top too, but that will be for another occasion. The back is laced up so it's just half the back.
Corte las piezas y cosí con overlook, para las terminaciones utilice cinta bies que yo misma corte y planche también, es bastante trabajoso el proceso por que es largo, pero es bastante simple de hacer.
I cut the pieces and sewed them with an overlook seam. For the finishes I used bias tape that I cut and ironed myself. The process is quite laborious because it is long, but it is quite simple to do.

Cosí la cinta para hacer las tiras que atan al cuello y la que sostiene la espalda, y otra cinta más que es la que hace de base para los sujetadores por donde pasa la cinta.
I sewed the ribbon to make the straps that tie around the neck and the one that holds up the back, and another ribbon that acts as a base for the fasteners through which the ribbon passes.

Hice unas vistas para la espalda que me ayudan a esconder la cinta de terminación del cuello, y esconden también la costura de los pasadores jajaja, siempre que haya una vista en una prenda revisen que se esconde detrás porque siempre hay algo jajaja.
I made some views for the back that help me hide the neckline finishing tape, and they also hide the seam of the pins hahaha, whenever there is a view on a garment check what is hidden behind it because there is always something hahaha.

Con todo cosido pase a pasar la cinta a la espalda y probarlo, me lo probe, aunque no era mi talle y me queda bien, lo que me da mucho gusto, es la primera vez que me expongo de esta manera, de vender algo que yo hice, va a estar en una mesa expuesto y será muy lindo 😊, espero que todo salga bien que a la gente le guste lo que hago lo suficiente para darme su dinero jajajajaj, y si no será buscar estrategias de venta para lograrlo, pero creo que sucederá en algún momento.
With everything sewn I went on to put the ribbon on the back and try it on. I tried it on, although it wasn't my size, it fits me well, which makes me very happy. This is the first time I've exposed myself in this way, selling something that I made. It's going to be on display on a table and it will be very nice 😊. I hope everything goes well, that people like what I do enough to give me their money hahahahaha, and if not, I'll have to look for sales strategies to achieve it, but I think it will happen at some point.
