Cuando empecé a coser allá por el 2017 muchas de las cosas que hacía tenían siempre el mismo problema, estaban hechas a las apuradas, las terminaciones no eran para mi algo muy importante y ahora es en lo que más me fijo, a la hora de encarar un nuevo proyecto pienso en cómo voy a terminar cada parte además del diseño, por eso hay muchas cosas que hice que al día de hoy ya no me gustan, o no reflejan como soy ahora, mi proceso creativo cambio bastante y mi forma de terminar un artículo también, ya no basta la satisfacción de haber hecho algo, ahora necesito que este bien, que sea lindo y funcional, son las 3 cosas que busco siempre que hago algo nuevo.
When I started sewing back in 2017, many of the things I made always had the same problem, they were rushed, the finishes were not very important to me and now that is what I focus on the most, when I face a new project I think about how I am going to finish each part in addition to the design, that is why there are many things that I made that today I no longer like, or they do not reflect who I am now, my creative process changed a lot and my way of finishing an article too, the satisfaction of having done something is no longer enough, now I need it to be good, to be pretty and functional, those are the 3 things I always look for when I do something new.
Esta semana me puse en la tarea de renovar un proyecto muy antiguo que había hecho, no sé cómo llamarlo, pero su función es la de poder guardar papel higiénico en el baño, es super simple de hacer, pero estaba un poco feo, así que, a descoser y volver a empezar, al principio cuando cosía cosas intentaba que fueran fáciles y rápidas, este es uno de esos proyectos, con mi búsqueda actual solo cumple una de esas 3 cosas, era funcional y nada más.
This week I set out to renew a very old project I had made, I don't know what to call it, but its function is to be able to store toilet paper in the bathroom, it is super simple to make, but it was a little ugly, so, I had to unstitch and start over, at first when I sewed things I tried to make them easy and fast, this is one of those projects, with my current search it only fulfills one of those 3 things, it was functional and nothing more.
Marque la nueva medida porque no entraban todos los rollos antes, en esta renovación van a entrar dos rollos, pero hay un pequeño espacio arriba para guardar las bolsas, ya que la nueva casa a la que me mude no tiene mueble de baño y como gastamos bastante con la mudanza el presupuesto esta ajustado por unos meses, así que voy a resolverlo con proyectos en tela momentáneamente.
I marked the new measurement because not all the rolls fit before, in this renovation two rolls will fit, but there is a small space above to store the bags, since the new house I moved to does not have bathroom furniture and since we spent a lot with the move, the budget is tight for a few months, so I am going to solve it with fabric projects momentarily.
Para la decoración voy a usar una tela que quiero terminar, estoy en plan de que mis telas antiguas se vayan a proyectos concretos desde ya, para darle lugar a nuevas cosas, así que esta vez voy a usar más la tela de lunares, para decorar voy a cortar dos tiras de 6 cm., es una tela hasta difícil de cortar, no tiene peso entonces se mueve muy fácil, y como eran tiras muy largas no las podía cortar en la placa de corte, hacerlo a tijera fue un pequeño desafío, a veces pienso en que invertir en una tijera eléctrica sería una buena idea, pero en realidad no creo que tanto, ya que si la tela es difícil simplemente no la uso jajajaja, esquivar cosas que no me gusta hacer es mi especialidad.
For the decoration I'm going to use a fabric that I want to finish, I'm planning on putting my old fabrics into specific projects from now on, to make room for new things, so this time I'm going to use the polka dot fabric more, to decorate I'm going to cut two 6 cm strips, it's a fabric that's even difficult to cut, it has no weight so it moves very easily, and since they were very long strips I couldn't cut them on the cutting mat, doing it with scissors was a bit of a challenge, sometimes I think that investing in electric scissors would be a good idea, but in reality I don't think so much, since if the fabric is difficult I simply don't use it hahaha, avoiding things that I don't like to do is my specialty.

Cosí las tiras, las voltee y las planche, es muy necesario planchar esta tela porque es difícil de manipular sin plancha, entonces con las tiras ya cortadas y planchadas pase a coser.
I sewed the strips, turned them over and ironed them. It is very necessary to iron this fabric because it is difficult to manipulate without an iron, so with the strips already cut and ironed I moved on to sewing.
Están cosidas a borde, esto es algo fácil porque es costura recta, pero también requiere la atención para que la costura quede recta, ya que estas tiras tapan el borde de la tela base, entonces la tela de abajo no se tiene que ver ni un poquito.
They are sewn along the edge, this is easy because it is a straight seam, but it also requires attention so that the seam is straight, since these strips cover the edge of the base fabric, so the fabric underneath does not have to be seen even a little.
Para la segunda costura hice una que sea decorativa, en hilo rojo ❤️ para que sea mucho más llamativo, y es una nueva costura, que es como una V, es una costura que me gusta mucho y ahora es mi nueva favorita.
For the second seam I made a decorative one, in red thread ❤️ to make it much more striking, and it is a new seam, which is like a V, it is a seam that I really like and now it is my new favorite.
Para finalizar hice la costura de división, que va de borde a borde sin pasar sobre la cinta de costado, también corté la tira de agarre y la cosí mucho más prolija, ya que antes era bueno un poco un desastre jajaj.
To finish I did the dividing seam, which goes from edge to edge without going over the side tape, I also cut the grip strip and sewed it much more neatly, since before it was a bit of a mess hahaha.
Ahora se ve mucho más lindo y prolijo, está listo para usar, y todo el material que use es reciclado ♻️ por lo que hacerlo así es muy económico, es un rectángulo, unas tiras y ganas de coser 😊, me siento más conforme con este proyecto, hace tiempo tenía en mente que quería renovarlo, pero no tenía la energía necesaria para hacerlo, haberme mudado al fin y estar más acomodada me ayudó mucho a que ciertas cosas fluyan mejor esta semana, espero que todo siga fluyendo así, y les deseo a todos un gran comienzo de semana.

Saludos querida me recordaste mis inicios en la costura, casi siempre al no cuadrar las terminaciones, hacia una de dos cosas o cortaba la tela sobrante o la doblaba y le pasaba costura, y por lo general quedaba un lado más corto, ya que no ponía atención que ambas orillas corrieran al mismo tiempo en la máquina, son pequeños detalles que vamos aprendiendo en el camino, me alegra que puedas renovar esos detalles y que con entusiasmo encares los desafíos que se presentan en esta nueva vivienda, sigue así, 👍👍👍
