Hola needleworkers 😊 espero que estén muy bien el día de hoy, esta semana estuve trabajando un poco más ya que tengo varias cosas de costuras que hacer y estoy en procesos creativos nuevos, es difícil concentrarme en todo porque estoy preparando un examen, pero necesito salir un poco de mi cabeza y hacer algo creativo cada tanto, sobre todo porque hay cosas en casa que se necesitan y yo tengo muchas telas que necesitan ser usadas, así que solo queda ponerse a trabajar.

It is difficult to concentrate on everything because I am preparing for an exam, but I need to get out of my head and do something creative every now and then, especially because there are things at home that are needed and I have a lot of fabrics that need to be used, so all that is left is to get to work.
Tengo mucha tela y quiero comprar telas nuevas, pero no puedo comprar telas nuevas hasta que termine las que tengo ya que son muchas, pero empecé a hacer cosas que todavía no les puedo contar, pero próximamente cuando las cosas se concreten voy a contarles un poco.
En casa se necesitaba un apoya pava, ya que la mesa de la cocina es de un mármol muy sensible, entonces no se puede apoyar la pava caliente, así que puse manos a la obra en este proyecto, pero 100% reciclado.
I have a lot of fabric and I want to buy new fabrics, but I can't buy new fabrics until I finish the ones I have because there are a lot of them, but I started to do things that I can't tell you about yet, but soon when things get done I will tell you a little bit. At home we needed a kettle rest, since the kitchen table is made of a very sensitive marble, so you can't put the hot kettle on it, so I got to work on this project, but 100% recycled.
Empecé cortando un viejo jean que aún tenía tela que podía salvar, siempre que pueda rescatar tela voy a intentar hacerlo, no solo fue cortar la pierna, sino que también descoser y planchar, no me gusta cortar las costuras, eso genera bastante desperdicio.
I started by cutting up an old pair of jeans that still had fabric that I could salvage. I'll try to do it whenever I can salvage fabric. It wasn't just a matter of cutting the leg, but also unstitching and ironing. I don't like cutting seams, as that creates a lot of waste.
También agarre telas antiguas que tenía que quería usar, pero no tenían un proyecto concreto, como estaba muy arrugadas hubo que plancharlas también y acá estoy yo en mi nuevo espacio, lo mejor es que tengo buena luz acá, aunque sea de noche, eso va a ayudar a que quizás organice mejor lo que hago.
I also grabbed some old fabrics that I had that I wanted to use, but they didn't have a specific project. Since they were very wrinkled, they had to be ironed as well. Here I am in my new space. The best thing is that I have good light here, even at night. That will help me to perhaps better organize what I do.

Corté 3 rectángulos de unos 28 cm de largo y unos 11 cm de alto, uno de cada tela, para después cortar cada tira en 3 cuadros para así hacer un rectángulo que tenga esa mezcla de las 3 telas, así el diseño se distribuye, ya que en tiras no me convencía como quedaba del todo.
I cut 3 rectangles about 28 cm long and about 11 cm high, one of each fabric, and then cut each strip into 3 squares to make a rectangle that has a mix of the 3 fabrics, so the design is distributed, since I wasn't completely convinced by how it looked in strips.

Cosí los cuadros entre sí para formar las tiras, para luego coser las tiras una sobre la otra formando un rectángulo nuevamente, hubo mucha plancha para que quede bien, porque si bien son todas las telas planas al ser el denim más duro necesita plancha para que todo quede bien, y las costuras debían quedar super planas, la plancha es siempre el mejor aliado a la hora de hacer patchwork.
I sewed the squares together to form the strips, then sewed the strips on top of each other to form a rectangle again. I had to iron a lot to get it right, because although they are all flat fabrics, being the denim harder it needs an iron to get everything right, and the seams had to be super flat. The iron is always the best ally when doing patchwork.
Con las tiras listas cosí la base con la tela estampada y cree la base de denim, tiene la misma medida, es doble para que pueda aguantar el calor de una pava caliente.
With the strips ready, I sewed the base with the printed fabric and created the denim base. It has the same measurement, it is double so that it can withstand the heat of a hot kettle.
Finalice con unas costuras decorativas en tono rojo ❤️, tengo muchas ganas de comprar el pie de bordado libre para poder jugar más con las costuras en este tipo de proyectos, hay muchas cosas que quiero hacer con la costura este año.
I finished with some decorative stitching in a red tone ❤️, I really want to buy the free embroidery foot so I can play more with the stitching in this type of projects, there are many things I want to do with sewing this year.
Mi nuevo proyecto ya está terminado por completo, me gusto hacerlo y le di uso a telas que ya necesitaban un poco de protagonismo.
My new project is completely finished, I enjoyed doing it and I gave use to fabrics that already needed a little prominence.

Seguro hay varias cosas que se necesiten en tu hogar o quizas en el de alguien cercano que conozcas para que puedas utilizar los retazos.

Quedó bonito, poco a poco puedes ir haciendo el juego jaja, si te sobra de esa misma tela podrías hacer guantes para cocina, trapitos, y así, quedaría bonito todo un conjunto de cosas de la misma telita en la cocina.
