Tenía planeado publicar algo muy diferente este fin de semana, pero me sentí muy inspirada por el trabajo de un usuario/artista que no conocía hasta hace pocas horas.
Su trabajo es ESPECTACULAR y me hizo recordar lo extremadamente útil que son las piezas de madera cortadas con láser para los Cosplayersヾ(☆▽☆)
Normalmente las piezas de este tipo las tallo en madera de balsa (pueden ver las últimas piezas que hice dando click AQUÍ, unos aretes replicados de Akame-Kun, el protagonista de uno de los mejores videos de EVE) pero quise probar algo nuevo en busca de resultados más pulcros.
I had planned to post something very different this weekend, but I was very inspired by the work of a user/artist I didn't know until a few hours ago.
His work is SPECTACULAR and reminded me how extremely useful laser-cut wooden parts are for Cosplayersヾ(☆▽☆).
Normally I usually stem pieces of this type in balsa wood (you can see the last pieces I made by clicking HERE, some replicated earrings of Akame-Kun, the protagonist of one of the best videos of EVE) but I wanted to try something new in search of neater results.

Dentro de la primicia de que no existe una forma “correcta o incorrecta” de hacer un Cosplay, las libertad interpretativa y de ejecución es de mis cosas favoritas de esta forma de arte.
En lugar de hacer fielmente el diseño de este broche dibujado por la artista (Naima) de esta versión de SM, decidí hacer un híbrido a mi gusto con los elementos de las varias versiones oficiales del primer broche.
Within the scoop that there is no "right or wrong" way to make a Cosplay, the interpretative and execution freedom is one of my favorite things about this art form.
Instead of faithfully doing the design of this brooch drawn by the artist (Naima) from this version of SM, I decided to make a hybrid to my liking with elements from the various official versions of the first brooch.
✦ We also had the moon for the neck choker and the moons for the earrings made, but that will be for another post ✦
¡Gracias a ellas obtuve la base principal en tiempo record!@Vanuzza me hizo el favor de crear el vector del broche, y @Pigritia conocía a un señor que cortaba piezas en madera con láser a pedido.
Las aplicaciones de cristal y perla las compre en una mercería, donde afortunadamente tenían todos los colores que necesitaba, aunque con distinto diseño/facetado.
Thanks to them I got the main base in record time!@Vanuzza did me the favor of creating the brooch vector, and @Pigritia knew a gentleman who laser cut wood parts on demand.
I bought the crystal and pearl applications at a haberdashery, where fortunately they had all the colors I needed, although with different design/faceting.
El momento de la verdad fue este: Comprobar que el vector y las aplicaciones coincidieran en sus medidas.
The moment of truth was this: Check that the vector and the applications matched in their measurements.
| 📌 Pasa suavemente el papel de lija N° 400 en movimientos circulares sobre las piezas sin pintar. |
| 📌 Aplica una capa de pintura casi al seco con un pincel de paleta. |
| 📌 Cuando esté totalmente seco, aplica otra capa ligera de pintura. |
| 📌 Repite el proceso 3 veces. |
| 📌 En la última capa de pintura (4ta) antes de que la pintura seque, toma con tu dedo una gota de agua y frota la superficie de la pieza en movimientos circulares de dentro hacia afuera. |
| 📌 Deja secar por 30 minutos. |
| 📌 Aplica una última vez la lija, en movimientos circulares de dentro hacia afuera. |
| 📌 Gently pass the sandpaper N° 400 in circular movements over the unpainted parts. |
| 📌 Apply a nearly dry coat of paint with a palette brush. |
| 📌 When completely dry, apply another light coat of paint. |
| 📌 Repeat the process 3 times. |
| 📌 On the last coat of paint (4th) before the paint dries, take a drop of water with your finger and rub the surface of the piece in a circular motion from the inside out. |
| 📌 Let dry for 30 minutes. |
| 📌 Apply the sandpaper one last time, in circular movements from the inside to the outside. |

Lo ideal en este momento sería aplicar una capa de sellador para un acabado más brillante y duradero. Pero como no lo conseguí a tiempo, pegué las piezas con un poco de UHU y seguí adelante.
Ideally at this point I would apply a coat of sealer for a glossier, longer lasting finish. But since I didn't get it in time, I glued the pieces together with some UHU and moved on.
Las siguientes piezas debieron pegarse con una combinación de UHU y pegamento para madera.
Porque el UHU hace reacción con el plástico debajo de las aplicaciones de cristal hechas de plástico, derrite el fondo y le da un efecto muy feo de burbujas en el fondo 😱 ☢
The following pieces should have been glued with a combination of UHU and wood glue.
Because the UHU makes reaction with the plastic under the glass applications made of plastic, it melts the bottom and gives you a very ugly bubble effect on the bottom 😱 ☢

Parece simple pero estas piezas necesitan guardar un tiempo de reposo y algunas cantidades extra de pegamento para no perder los apliques con el roce y los golpes (especialmente las perlas).
It seems simple but these pieces need some time to rest and some extra amounts of glue in order not to lose the appliqués with friction and knocks (especially the pearls).

Estoy contenta con el resultado, pero no satisfecha. Sé que pude haberlo hecho mejor.
Mi plan original era usar "pan de oro" (o "laminilla de oro") en lugar de pintura acrílica, para conseguir un efecto más realista (más “mágico”).
Pero se me acabó, y por el tema de la pandemia es muy difícil que pueda trasladarme al único sitio en la ciudad donde sé que venden todavía ese hermosísimo material (┐「ε:)
I am happy with the result, but not satisfied. I know I could have done better.
My original plan was to use "gold leaf " (or "gold foil ") instead of acrylic paint, to get a more realistic (more "magical") effect.
But I ran out, and because of the pandemic issue it's very difficult for me to move to the only place in town where I know they still sell that very beautiful material (┐「ε:)

Btw! Creo que fue un buen ensayo y siempre puedo repetir la pieza en el futuro (gracias a que compre suficientes cristales y pedrería).
También me divertí mucho experimentando con el app de PREQUEL para las fotos que están viendo (si a alguien le gusta no sea timidx y dígame que talco). Esta pequeña pieza fue un excelente modelo porque parecía verse bien no importa el filtro que escogiera 😆
Btw! I think it was a good test run and I can always repeat the piece in the future (thanks to buying enough crystals and rhinestones).
I also had a lot of fun experimenting with the PREQUEL app for the photos you are seeing (if anyone likes it don't be shy and tell me!). This little piece was an excellent model because it seemed to look good no matter what filter I chose 😆

Nunca me cansare de repetir que no necesitas materiales costosos ni una gran cantidad de lágrimas y sacrificio para conseguir piezas bonitas, limpias y bien hechas.
-sigh- Me siento mal desde el viernes y estoy muy fatigada, tratare de tomarme las cosas con calma a partir de mañana y terminare proyectos pequeños estando en cama. Sean gentiles con ustedes mismos, no se sobre esfuercen, ¡y tomen mucha agüita!
I will never tire of repeating that you don't need expensive materials or a great deal of tears and sacrifice to get nice, clean, well-made pieces.
-sigh- I feel bad since Friday and I am very fatigued, I will try to take it easy starting tomorrow and finish small projects while in bed. Be gentle with yourselves, don't overexert yourselves, and drink lots of water!
