RE: October Can't Come Fast Enough

I too look forward to cooler weather. Bring on the sweat shirts and fall jackets. Also putting the lawn mower away for the season will be nice, haha.

Great your involved with a veteran group. Toys-for-Tots is an excellent thing that is around everywhere here. It can be tough finding purpose after serving. I'm fornate to still be around it although I don't wear the uniform now. I'm happy and thankful to put my contributions in still right along side uniform members.

I can remember talking to WW II vets a lot but they are now national treasures as there aren't many left. The Vietnam guys are the next to dwindle down unfortunately. It's always a pleasure to listen to those that served before us. There perspectives and experiences are great to hear.

Yeah, I am done with yards. We put a Weed & Feed mixture on ours this last spring. Needless to say most of our yard was weeds and it killed it. So tired of looking at it. I'll deal with it next spring.

I had some good jobs after I retired from the Corps that gave me purpose, but now retired early for medical reasons. It has been a struggle to find my footing again.

Yes, it is sad the WWII folks are almost all gone. They were a wealth of information and stories. Sadly our Korea and Vietnam folks aren't far behind now. However, the guys in my group from that era seem to be getting on better than I do. LOL
