well, the next days and weeks will be quite busy because I will have to work on my usual desk and move almost every day for a few hours to our head quarters where I have another office, or better said a desk in the office of a co-worker.

Wow, it seems that they are overloading you with work during your last years my friend.
But then again I know that you can handle it, as you have much experience.
Now an idea could be for you to hang some naked pictures in the office that you share at HQ, as it might inspire the co-worker to leave and then you can have the office for yourself 🤣🤣🤣
Let's just hope that he doesn't fall in love with the pictures and move an extra friend in there.🤣

as long as the extra work isn't stupid unnecessary work, I don't mind, but many times it is.
Well, I have my office, the office where we are for nightshift with surveillance cameras / monitors and such and I have my desk in the office in our headquarter. Today I wanted to go there in the afternoon and home from there, but I got a phone call in the morning after my nightshift and had to drive there at once, because the security system didn't work properly. The repair was quickly done, but suddenly I have had so much to do that I spent the whole day there 😅
Haha, they all know me and I have met our directors today too, but even if they would want to, our salary system is set by law and it wouldn't be possible. It wouldn't look good if I would install door handles or locks just to help my co-workers as a General, or would it ;)

Now that's a thing that I seriously dislike. Stupid work.
I am known as a problem solver and I see no need to call me when a problem can resolve itself. Yet they call me and then I hit the roof 🤣
Well you know the saying, "You make your plan and then life happens" 😘
You made your plan to do a quick job, but then it turned into a day long job 🤣
I cannot say that it can't happen my friend, as we have gardeners here that are now in positions of power because they worked their way up.
Besides, when you are a General you can order others to fix the security and door handles and such things. They say that it's not what you know, but who you know 😘

Yep, that has often been the case, a quick job lasted for months.
I'm a worker, Zac, I couldn't sit somewhere and give only orders. If they would be too slow working I would do it myself anyway 😄
Oh, I know quite a few people in good positions, but I have always made my way on my own without anyone pushing me up.

Oh yes, I understand as we also have a ton of illogical decisions over here 🤣
Hahaha, just when we think that we know most of the things, life will surprise us.
A lady complained the her room's door lock was faulty. So I went there thinking that I will quickly fix the lock. Then I discovered that the lock was faulty (sticky) because the door was not fitted properly.
So I went and fetched my other tools and I had to take the door off, refit the hinges and re-hang the door again. The lock then worked properly as the alignment was correct and the "quick" job took me most of the day 🤣
I told you before that we are the same Hannes. I was a national manager at a company and I still took my welding machine to show the guys how I wanted a job done 😘
The people in top positions over here promote their family members and friends into top positions, even if they are not qualified to do the work.
Best is to always depend only on the self and you have it totally correct.
