Hello, brave warriors of Splinterlands! New cards are great and of course I was happy to see the arrival of the powerful fighter Sea Wreck, the new legendary cards for the Water Element.
Of course it's a shame that I didn't get him on airdrop, but I rented him today to see what he can do (plus in the first few days with such a strong monster you can surprise your opponents) and I'm very happy with the experience.
The card, as is often the case with legendaries, has a very high summoning cost, but it is fully justified. Its low speed is more than compensated by a strong attack and a lot of health, and its strong shield and Bloodlust ability, thanks to which its parameters will increase with each new victim, make it an excellent fighter for the first position.
In a couple of fights, however, one of his main advantages was deflecting archer attacks, which combined with his high health brought me victory.
Since one of the fights was a combination of a huge amount of mana and Close Range, I assumed that the opponent would focus on archers and chose this lineup:
BORTUS
A low-cost summoner with the ability to degrade the quality of magic attacks. But since the Silent Summoners rule was in effect, the main advantage was that I use it in Gold Foil.
SEA WRECK
A new card with huge health, strong shield, and most importantly, the ability to fend off enemy archers.
DJINN OSHANNUS
One of my favourite mages. High health, high speed, ability to resist magic damage. Just the coolest monster ever!
PHANTOM OF THE ABYSS
Speed is cool, so the next line is this fast mage. Especially since the amount of mana allowed me to use the most expensive monsters.
RUNEMANCER KYE
You can never have too many strong mages and in the next position I put this card (one of the best cards in the Riftwatchers set!) with the cool ability to build up health by inflicting damage. If my strategy fails, this card has a good chance of holding the defence for at least a couple of turns.
ARKEMIS THE BEAR
Given that I was betting that the opponent would choose strong archers, I put this card to protect my monsters, giving my allies extra shields.
COASTAL NYMPH
It was a sin not to use the Close Range rule, and the last line went to an excellent archer with random attack ability. It can be a lot of fun to wreak havoc on the enemy :)
The enemy, as expected, emphasised long-range attacks, but chose some strong mages - MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN, REGAL PERYTON and healer GOBLIN PSYCHIC, which was supplemented by archers SUPPLY RUNNER and AVA THE UNDAUNTED. The fight promised to be hot!
I took out the enemy MYCELIC SLIPSPAWN during the first round, and SEA WRECK did a good job of deflecting the archers' attacks, so I hoped for the best.
By the start of the third round, my SEA WRECK was out, but played a great role in destroying AVA THE UNDAUNTED, and I went into the next round with an excellent quality and quantity advantage of 5 to 3!
If it wasn't for the Silenced Summoners rule, my opponent had a much better chance to win, but my mages and archer made excellent use of their head start, and DJINN OSHANNUS held the defence brilliantly, so at the beginning of round 5 I had a solid victory.
Such a fight it turned out to be I was glad to share this experience, I will continue to look for new strategies for this very interesting card, and I hope we will meet on the battlefield!
