[ Writing Contest ] Finish the tale #3

in Ecency Support • 6 days ago

Hello everyone welcome to my blog🤗.

I woke up to find a note on my pillow
"You have 24 hours to sign the divorce papers" Jane said to Luke, staring him in the eyes to be certain he wrote the note.

Luke pretended not to hear her, "Are you really sure about this?" He said yes, and she quietly picked up a pen and paper and began making a list.

Luke was taken aback to see her write; he expected her to nag, shout, or cry rather than sit quietly and create a bucket list.

When she finished writing, she handed him the list and asked gently, "Will you do me the honor of fulfilling this list before I sign the paper? I only have 24 hours to be your wife; please help me fulfill this wishlist," she implored.

Perplexed by her actions, he stared at his wife Jane but was unable to read her expression because she was so straightforward and focused on achieving her wishlist. He consented to it because he is curious about where everything is leading to and because he cannot tell if she is happy with the divorce or not.

The first thing on the list was to go to the library at their college. After dating for seven years in high school, Luke and Jane got married five years later. They have been together for 12 years. In college at the time, they were the greatest couple.
Jane's first love was Luke. They became acquaintances and eventually fell in love after meeting at the college library.

When they arrived at the library, they sat quietly at their usual seat, no one uttered a word, both of them were so lost in memories that they lost count of time.

Jane was astonished when she checked the time. Luke, we need to move on to the next item on the list; we are running out of time. Luke was so emotional that he stood up without saying a word. They walked to the bridge, where they usually go for ice cream. That's where they shared their first kiss.

During their brief stay on that bridge, they experienced the quietest moments of their lives. They took their favorite ice cream in silence and lost themselves in their thoughts.

Finally, after a few hours, the final destination is Luke's Grandma's oat tree. That is where he proposed to her.

Jane requested that they go to the location separately, she asked Luke to come with the paper she's going to sign it there. She arrived earlier and cried out loud since she couldn't contain her feelings. When she heard footsteps from behind her, she immediately dried her eyes so Luke wouldn't notice how much she cried. She wanted him to make his own decisions, not because she was emotional or aggravating.

She took up the paper when he arrived, signed it, and started to walk away. When he called her back, he asked if she read what she signed. It appeared that she hadn't read what she had signed. "Forever together deal" was what she saw when she looked at the paper.

Luke vowed never to mention divorce again, stating he was influenced by his colleague's remarks regarding exploring other lovers, as Jane is his first love.

They said their vows again under the oak tree where he asked her to marry him years before.
