Whoever says that he has played something without knowing the rules, may be a great cheat, because almost no one researches how to play or reads the paper with the instructions of the game. At best, there is always someone who knows something, or has seen others play it and that's how it starts.
My oldest son is a lover of online games or video games on consoles, and in fact, he had played pool this way, so he was not completely unaware of the rules, but obviously not to the level of knowing the details of certain moves and points. So when we went out for his birthday, he preferred to play pool and not bowling as I had planned.
He and his two friends took turns playing, and even though there were 3 of them, they didn't really care much about the points, they just took care not to pocket the cue ball and leave the black for last. I could even see them from afar trying to make strange maneuvers to make caroms or other unusual moves.
They played two games during the hour they had the table rented, and at some point I stopped to watch them play at being older too, when they are only 17 years old, but they already feel like “alpha males, hairy breasts”. The best part of it all was watching them share, laugh at their blunders and never stop trying to reach their goal.
When we were on our way back to deliver the game kit, I asked them who had won, almost in unison they answered me: “I don't know” and I think it was even better that they were not aware of it, because that day was for celebration and not for competition, although in the end I think the three of them won a little bit of everything in that sharing outside the classroom, and also from the screen of a video game.
I believe that teaching children that the purpose of games is more to have fun than to win, is much healthier, and even allows them to enjoy themselves much more. What do you think?
Quien no diga que ha jugado algo sin saber las reglas, puede que sea un gran timador, pues casi nadie investiga como jugar o se lee el papel con las instrucciones de juego. Cuando mucho, siempre hay alguien que sabe algo, o ha visto a otros jugarlo y así se empieza.
Mi hijo mayor es amante de los juegos en línea o los videojuegos en consolas, y de hecho, había jugado pool de esta manera, así que no desconocía del todo las normas, pero obvio no llega al nivel de saber los detalles de ciertas jugadas y puntos. Así que cuando salimos por su cumpleaños, prefirió juga pool y no bowling como había planificado yo.
Él y sus dos amigos, se turnaban para jugar, y aunque eran 3 realmente no les importaba mucho los puntos, solo se ocupaban de no meter la bola blanca y dejar la negra para el final. Inclusive, los veía desde lejos tratar de hacer maniobras raras para poder hacer carambolas u otro movimiento fuera de serie.
Jugaron dos partidas durante la hora que tuvieron alquilada la mesa, y en algún momento me detuve a verlos jugar también a ser mayores, cuando apenas tienen 17 años, pero ya se sienten hombres "machos alfa, pechos peludos". Lo mejor de todo fue verlos compartir, reírse de sus desaciertos y no dejar de tratar nunca de alcanzar su objetivo.
Cuando íbamos de vuelta a entregar el kit de juego, les pregunté quien había ganado, casi al unísono me respondieron: "no sé" y creo que fue hasta mejor que no estuvieran pendiente de ello, pues ese día era de celebración y no de competencia, aunque al final creo que los tres ganaron un poco de todo en ese compartir fuera de las aulas de clases, y también de la pantalla de un videojuego.
Creo que enseñarles a los hijos que la finalidad de los juegos es más para divertirse que para ganar, es mucho más sano, e inclusive les permite disfrutar mucho más. ¿Ustedes que creen?

Pues se ve súper. Cuando estuve viviendonun tiempo en Colombia disfrutaba ir a jugar con mis amigos. Siempre digo que es una pena que en Cuba no haya tradición de este juego. Un saludo

Ellos también, y más de una vez la metieron y se reían de sus fallas, eso me pareció encantador, pues pudieron reaccionar de mala manera, que no era la idea.
