Working on a Kilo of US Constitutional Silver Dimes 5-12-2022

in Silver Gold Stackers3 years ago

Fresh off the mint, one US Constitutional (90%) Silver Dime has 0.07234, Troy Ounce of Silver. But after years of use, that weight diminishes. To achieve, one T OZ. one needs about $1.40, in Dimes. Actually, around $1.38. When buying/selling by weight, the “rule-of-thumb” is around 0.0715. Check out the two Troy Ounces, of (junk box) US Silver Dimes (28), from the Local Coin Shop. Today's price was, $20(USD) per $1 face value. Down $2, from the day before.

These old Mercury/Liberty, (90%), Silver Dimes, have been doing their job, of storing value & wealth, for about a century.

The US Mint, mass-produced, these, 1964, Silver F. D. Roosevelt Dimes, literary, by the tonnes. Same with 1964, Washington Quarters & JFK Half Dollars.

Valuable Silver, pocket-change is still floating around, in circulation, but getting rarer, year by year. Today, it's getting to be a once in a lifetime find, for the lucky. I am working on stacking a Kilo of Silver Dimes, from the LCS. It will probably take around, 450 Silver Dimes, to exceed the Kilo weight, of pure Silver.

This, mostly, Mercury/Liberty stack, is about 166 short.

I got a pile of silver dimes myself, I get the feeling I will be handing out some of these dimes to Neighbors and friends when the SHTF. Great for small purchases and private commerce.

Thanks again for looking and commenting, Kerris L Ravenhill - @kerrislravenhill. I always thought you were the good neighbor type, Kerris. Silver Dimes have always been worth a loaf of nutritious bread, or so.

I’m moving down the block! Hook me up 😂

It’s been a minute since I added some old school coinage. I pretty much switched to just bars and rounds mostly but this reminds me silver Dimes are indeed a great smaller silver content weight for smaller bartering or breaking change. Not to mention showing history.

I even have saved every pre 82 penny I’ve got as change since 2015. It’s a bucket full. I can only imagine there’s still buckets full of silver dimes and quarters from those who were around when these were in circulation. I have a solid bunch of pre 64 dimes but hasn’t added in years. I might take a look and do so today.

  Cheers 🖤

Silver dimes are so nice To stack a whole lot is awesome. They all look in great condition !

Thanks again, for looking and commenting, @olympicdragon. Yes, Dimes are the ultimate fractionals.

I like dimes it's more valuable and first coins produced by US mint. Liberty seated dime is my favorite

I like mercury dimes, amazing stunning heroes with perfect design, it's the cheapest method to have fractional silver, keep collecting and making huge purchase

Love the dimes, just picked up a couple rolls myself!

Thanks again for looking and commenting, @thedamus.

These days I don’t stack much
US Coinage but I do like what u got!

What do you prefer about the pre 64 coinage? Is it dimes are a smaller amount then 1 ounce rounds and can be used for trading smaller value when SHTF?
I got a few rolls indeed. Some good looking ones you got also 🙌

Plus it’s important to show the next generations we had silver as money not long ago at all.

I guess I answered my own question 😂

I just would tell newbies to not put all eggs in coinage basket and grab some larger rounds or bars also. But dimes are a great store of a smaller silver content for breaking change in a bartering world.

Some “experts” are saying, Silver is today's most undervalued commodity, For me, pre-1964 US Silver coinage is the easiest, and usually, the cheapest way to go. They are fractional, hard to reproduce or counterfeit, because it's not worth it. Easy to recognize and ID. Their wear & tear proves they have been around. Being a baby-boomer, I, and many of my peers, know & understand its value, because of how hard it was to earn, work for, or just plain get. When it comes to understanding, the value of Precious Metals, “we” may be the only generation, ever, or in 5,000 years, to not get it. If the SHTF, It's going to be an OMG moment. “Why didn't anyone warn us.” Today, the young and some old, newbies, inexperienced, etc..., better listen and understand, what people like, Gene Everett - @geneeverett, are saying. As Granddad (WWI Veteran) said, to me, “you had better take heed, in what I am saying.” Its coming.

Every stacker should have some of it!
Nice!!!US Constitutional silver, if you are from the USA, are staples, @cve3!

These are a bunch of US silver coins. Now is worth a small amount. The Morgan's they were used as money. Those coins are worth it's weight in silver !

Oh how I wish there'd be a Coin shop close to me rather than having to plan a day trip to get to a decent one.

1944 silver alloy Jefferson nickle. They needed nickel for the war effort.

You know, one coin I do not own is the columbian half dollar, very cool!

In the past, when coins have value, they were made of silver. Now we don't feel that value. Everything is manufactured

Liberty coins are amazing, I should stack more of them
Stack on, @cve3
