Another Friday, the weekend begins and presents us with a new opportunity to remember the 90s. This time, remembering the approaching Valentine's Day, I decided to dedicate this edition of #ninetiesfriday to remember some of the romantic songs of those years.
I Will Always Love You (1992)
Written and performed in 1973 by Dolly Parton, it took a leap to be performed again by Whitney Houston, this new version was part of the soundtrack of the movie “The Bodyguard” where the singer participated as a protagonist with Kevin Costner, this version was released in 1992 and has sold more than 20 million copies (it is considered the best-selling single of all time by a female artist), also assured the singer several awards including two Grammys.
Hasta que me olvides (1993)
This song performed by the Mexican singer Luis Miguel, was released in the singer's album Aries which was released to the public in 1993, the song was written by the singer and the famous Dominican singer-songwriter and musician Juan Luis Guerra, the ballad hit immediately after its promotion and rose to number one on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks list in the United States and to date, is one of the most remembered songs of the musical career of this singer, who is known as “El Sol de Mexico” (The Sun of Mexico).
I Don't Want to Miss a Thing (1998)
If you saw the movie Armageddon you know this song and if not, it is very difficult not to because in the 90's the American hard rock band Aerosmith popularized this and other songs, but this one stood out for being part of the soundtrack of the aforementioned movie, with a powerful lyrics was written by the lead guitarist of the band and Diane Warren, was written thinking that a soloist interpret it, but after being recorded by the band and be released in 1998, managed to be at number one of Billboard Hot 100, for me it is one of the songs that most do not remember this band.
Bella (1999)
Released in 1999, it is a ballad interpreted both in its English and Spanish version by the Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin, with beautiful lyrics in which the authors Robi Draco Rosa (another former member of the group often), Jon Secada, and George Noriega captured the sadness of a man who only after losing his love realizes how valuable she was, because she was always there for him, calling her beautiful, for everything he delivered, this song is part of the fifth album of the soloist, entitled Ricky Martin. The Spanish version of this song reached number one on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks.

Otro viernes, ya comienza el fin de semana y nos presenta una nueva oportunidad para recordar los 90. En esta ocasión, recordando la cercanía del día de San Valentín, decidí dedicar esta edición del #ninetiesfriday para recordar algunas de las canciones románticas de esos años.

Escrita e interpretada en el año 1973 por Dolly Parton, dio un salto al ser de nuevo interpretada por Whitney Houston, esta nueva versión formo parte de la banda sonora de la película “El guardaespaldas” donde la cantante participo como protagonista junto a Kevin Costner, esta versión fue lanzada en el año 1992 y ha vendido hasta donde se conoce más de 20 millones de copias (se le considera sencillo más vendido de todos los tiempos por una artista femenina), además le aseguro a la cantante varios premios entre los que destacan dos Grammy.

Esta canción interpretada por el cantante mexicano Luis Miguel, fue lanzada en el álbum Aries del cantante el cual salió al público en 1993, la canción fue escrita por el cantante y por el famoso cantautor y músico dominicano Juan Luis Guerra, la balada pego de manera inmediata tras su promoción y ascendió al número uno en la lista Billboard Hot Latin Tracks en los Estados Unidos y hasta la fecha, es una de las canciones más recordadas de la trayectoria musical de este cantante, a quien se le conoce como “El Sol de México”

Si vieron la película Armagedón conocen el tema y si no, pues es muy difícil que no lo hagan porque en los 90 la banda estadounidense de hard rock Aerosmith popularizo este y otros temas, pero este destaco por formar parte de la banda sonora de la ya mencionada película, con una letra poderosa fue escrita por el guitarrista principal de la banda y Diane Warren, se escribió pensando en que la interpretara un solista, pero tras ser grabada por la banda y ser lanzada en el 1998, logro estar en el número uno de Billboard Hot 100, para mí es una de las canciones que más no recuerdan a esta banda.
Bella (1999)
Estrenada en 1999, es una balada interpretada tanto en su versión en inglés como en español por el cantante puertorriqueño Ricky Martin, con una hermosa letra en la que los autores Robi Draco Rosa (otro ex integrante del grupo menudo), Jon Secada, y George Noriega plasmaron la tristeza de un hombre que solo tras perder a su amor se percata de lo valiosa que era, pues siempre estuvo allí para él, llamándola bella, por todo lo que entrego, esta canción forma parte del quinto álbum del solista, titulado Ricky Martin. La versión en español de esta canción llegó al número uno en el Billboard Hot Latin Tracks
