An (un)trained Monkey Assembles Suppressors

Times are tought and the world is crazy, one must be prepared to do hard things. So here I am putting together suppressors for my harem army.

I’m kidding of course, I don’t have an army, yet. I’m just helping out for a few days at a suppressor maker company, a little summer helper you could say. I’m only doing something even a monkey could do, but I like it because I can just listen to audiobooks while doing something useful with my hands. I puts one thing inside a tube thing and then I screw a little thing on the other end to hold them all together. Much professionalism.

If you are a Pew Pew guy or girl, do you use suppressors when you shoot?

Sort:

Supressors are highly regulated here in America because idiot politicians believe everything they hear from hollywood. You have to pay out the nose for a tax stamp, and you get put under heavy scrutiny to be able to own one.

They aren't that complicated, so if ever I want one, I'll just make my own... and if anyone asks, I'll just say that it's a mute for my trumpet, wink wink.

You know what's really weird? You can buy air rifles with suppressors permanently installed, and you don't need any kind of special permit for it.

And because they're not legally firearms, you can even get a suppressed black powder rifle delivered to your door.

Ooh, I didn't even think of that! Though, I suspect black powder would clog up a suppressor rather quickly.

2L plastic Bottle, Polyfill. a Knife and Common adhesive are the only assembly supplies needed. Fits on all models lol

I have a lathe, I can make something a little more sophisticated than that. Still, good to know.

We have strict gun laws overall in here, so a suppressor is nothing to add on to that.

Supressors are treated similarly to a full auto rifle here in the states. Like it's going to be used as a weapon of mass destruction and the only people who use them are serial killers and hitmen.

I would think they regulate suppressors because they can’t regulate guns. It’s just a workaround and not like anyone actually thinks the suppressor part is what makes a killer.

You don't know American politicians very well... 🤣

Well I do overestimate most people’s common sense anyway. They always surprise me with their stupidity 😝

That doesn't really make any sense, though. A suppressor is an accessory that protects hearing, and not even very well with supersonic ammo. Meanwhile, guns are definitely regulated in the US. All commercial sales go through a federal background check. I'm just glad I live where private sales are just that - private.

God.. What the fuck are these people smoking trying to regulate what is essentially a fucking tube and some rubber washers?

Gun control is a fucking joke, the NRA is a shitty joke. XD

Monkey see, monkey do.

Lol...Well, I'm a man-monkey so I reckon I'd be good as suppressor construction.

Are you wearing pants that do NOT have holes in the knees?

The last time something this momentous happened, a bright star was seen in the sky and three wise men started to march.....

🤣😂

Why yes indeed I am, and they even have many functional pockets, unlike most women’s clothing 😂

There is something I'm wondering about: do suppressors degrade quickly when you fire with them, or is it just a myth?

Some suppressors use rubber "wipes" that wear out after a few uses. Metal cans using baffle chambers don't physically contact the bullet unless things go wrong, so the only wear is pressure stress. They last a long time. Those that are easier to disassemble, clean, and generally maintain will last longer if properly cared for, of course.

I asked a pro and he said yes they do wear put but definitely not quickly. Depends on the material though.

Suppressors are not legal for civilians here in my country and so most shooters have never shot a firearm with one fitted. There is hope that the laws will change however at this stage it's not happened. How many did you make?

I think it’s a bit weird that guns are legal but suppressors not, it’s not like they make it any more likely to have someone shoot your ass. Still makes a bang 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think I put together well over 1000 suppressors.

It's fucking weird, but that's modern-day governments for you right?

In truth, one suppressor is permitted here, designated to a particular owner and firearm [rifle not handgun], however, they haven't worked out how to regulate it meaning how do they make sure it stays on its designated gun and with the registered owner and so...No suppressors. It's retarded.

A thousand suppressors? All that work in the kitchen left you with a good work ethic.

Stupid people making stupid laws, usually based more on emotion than fact and numbers. Missing the big picture as always.

I found myself perfectly content doing the same thing over and over while listening to an audiobook while at it. Maybe I am more simple than I like to think.

Yeah, many of the laws around guns are made by people who are advised by people who have no fucken guns and no clue. It's the same all over the world generally. No logic.

No harm in being simple. I'm simple AF, but manage to get by.

When it comes to "legality" in regards to guns.. The answer is non-compliance and a simple 'Come and take it" stance.

Fuck the feds if they think they can honestly use rule by force to scare the population into following along with their political fallacy ownership of man bullshit.

You want to come take my (imaginary) machine gun government? I've literally got hundreds of reasons why you probably cannot! 30 of which are a finger flick from full send.

TLDR: To comply with tyranny is to agree you don't deserve to make your own decisions. FUCK THAT.

There's always someone, or organisation, that feels vindicated to impose their will upon others. Sometimes they get away with it, for a time, and sometimes they get what's coming to them.

TIL Eve is a fucking arms dealer.. Hot! XD

Hahaha not quite but I’ll play 😛

A box full of felonies up here. That is pretty damn hardcore. :D

I very much want a suppressor, especially for rifles. It just makes sense to put the hearing protection on the gun. Unfortunately, the feds regulate muzzle mufflers as if they were machine guns. Don't be fooled by the media. Actual assault rifles are not at all easy to obtain legally in the US.

Define "Actual".. lol

Considering I can print all but the barrel, bolt carrier group and FCG springs of AR-15's just as easily as I can print 3D models to decorate my desk with.. I guess it all boils down to what you consider a real weapon.

Guys started printing useable lowers years ago.. Last year they figured out how to print uppers as well.. On average a well printed AR platform is lasting well over 1000 rounds. Even more if using a smaller caliber like 22LR.

If you have a threaded barrel give me the thread specs and I can send you a 3D printed quiet can for your beer drinking (or plinking) pleasure. :P

Have you looked into the FGC-9 method of rifling homebuilt barrels?

Aye! ECM cutting of rods or blanks is something I'm trying to get jigs built for to experiment with.. Up here in Canada the barrels and whatnot especially for pistols are incredibly expensive compared to the states.. And while a home spun barrel likely isn't quite as accurate as professional made barrel goal is to make something that would work then start doing tutorials for it hosting on HIVE. :)

Yeah I know it’s not like you can just buy any gun and anywhere, but still, it’s way more easy there than it is here. Getting a hunting rifle is probably the easiest here, but even that requires going through a couple tests and police checks.

I always advise taking training. While I wish the NRA was as powerful and principled as its mainstream critics say, I can at least agree their hunter education and rifle safety programs are good. But something about mandates run me the wrong way. Our cops and politicians are so abysmally awful on respect for liberty and individual rights, after all, that it is the height of absurdity to think of them as able to determine my capacity for responsibility.

The rules are made for the people with a double digit IQ, and us more intelligent ones will always suffer for them.
