I recently did a post about the red rocks park in Colorado. More specifically about the red rocks amphitheater which you can see here. The amphitheater is only one part of the park but there is more to see there. We had some time so we decided to take a short trail in the area too.
The trail is called the Trading Post Trail. No, I have no idea why it's called that, maybe there was a trading post at some point in history 😅. It's an easy route and is 1.4 miles long. Takes about 40 minutes to complete.
On this trail, you can see many cool-looking red rock formations. Many of these have names. For example, the one in the photo below is called a Titanic rock because it looks like a Titanic that is halfway sunk below the water line.
This one looks quite similar to Titanic Rock.
It's a bit of a shame that we did have an overcast weather. Photos would have been more interesting with sunny or at least partly cloudy weather but what are you gonna do... Cant choose the weather or time to visit places when traveling.
Enjoy more photos from this cool trail!
If you ever visit Red Rocks Park near Denver then it is definitely worth it to take this short and easy trail too besides seeing the amphitheater. Those rock formations are really interesting to see. I had never seen rocks like that so I enjoyed this hike!
Don't forget to participate in my monthly weather guessing game here and you might win 10 HIVE. The game is open until the 17th of July.
YAY, some of your posts from Colorado. The red rock area is so cool. This looks like a great hike.
Yes, this place is great! There are more trails to explore but I was short on time to see everything
You had some amazing views along this trail. Very cool…
Great captures! Thanks for sharing.
Have a wonderful evening 👋🏻😊
Yes, definitely! Thank you.
You are welcome 👋🏻😊 have a great Wednesday!
Very beautiful rocks. Pretty scenery. I always like to visit such places.
These are yea!
A wonderful place to do hike, but the shape of these rocks are making this place a little scary.
Hah, scary why ? 😀
This is so neat to see you take pictures as a traveler and nature aficionado of Red Rocks, CO. I spent 2 years living in this area and have seen many famous names in EDM perform in this venue. I definitely took the surrounding park for granted, as I spend most of my time there tailgating in the lower South lots and dancing near row 32 (my favorite place to view a show).
Also quite remarkable natural phenomenon in Colorado are Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs and The Black Canyon in Gunnison. Happy travels!
Oh cool! That would be so nice to see a live event there. Well, at least I got to see a huge show on Empower Field in Denver (Illenium).
Garden of the Gods and Black Canyon were awesome! I visited them both, posts are coming in the future. The trip to the garden of the gods got cut short tho due to severe weather.
Wow, I had no idea you came stateside for the Trilogy show. I'm a big EDM guy myself (chief editor of the EDM media co & blog moonlvnding.com). My partner and I watched the full live stream of that Trilogy show -- I really enjoyed the live guitar from Dabin for that Excision collab "Gold" and the third "live set" was super cool. Illenium will be here in Brooklyn, NY July 14, but I think I saw enough on the stream that I won't buy a ticket to go in person.
Glad you got to go to those other CO landmarks. I lived about 5 minutes from Garden of the Gods for over a year, so I hiked through those trails a bunch of times. Colorado weather can be a bit wild, but the good news is that it usually blows through quickly.
Yeah, the trilogy show was the main reason I traveled to CO from Europe. I had never seen a dubstep show and I was no longer unable to put off seeing Illenium. So I figure why not go on his biggest show! Decided to arrive some 6 days early to explore CO at the same time.
The live show was amazing from the start till the end!
I did see enough too but I would go again. Met some people from Texas there. They told me that they will go again in Texas too. I guess I have a chance to go in Europe, London or Amsterdam too in the fall but I doubt I will do it.
The photos you shared are beautiful, and I can see why you enjoyed the hike. The rock formations are really unique, and I've never seen anything like them before.
I'm sorry that you had overcast weather on your hike. I'm sure the photos would have been even more stunning if the sun had been shining. But even in overcast weather, the park is still beautiful.
Yeah, the weather does what it does. At least I got to visit the place and it sure was stunning to see even then.
Wow!! 😊😁
Indeed!
Such places are very special and one is very happy to go there and see the natural scenery as we are seeing all these places in the pictures. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.
Indeed special, I cant see stuff like this back home!
Yeah you are right.
