Good day dear mates! As you can know from one of my previous posts one of my goals for this winter was skiing. And YES it has happened! Weather was kind for me at this days. The temperature started going down and down and it was snowing long enough to let me skiing in the forest.
So I decided not to wait for a long time and when I had my first day off today I took my ski and went to the forest.
When I came there it was already later than 3pm. So I quickly changed my shoes for skiing shoes and my journey has begun.
First that I fill was that I haven't trained in a long time. However, I quickly adapted and then it was easy for me. However, at the beginning of the journey, I was very upset by the fact that during the time that I was not in the winter forest, namely since autumn, the track that was used for skiing was damaged. And to be more precise, in the beginning of the path it was clear that fans of ATVs rode along the path and, as a result, it was impossible to ski skating.
However, after a couple of kilometers the road got better and I was able to go full speed.
While skiing, I discovered that due to bad weather, there were a lot of fallen trees in the forest. And I had to dodge to go around the fallen trees. And somewhere, on the contrary, the trees grew and began to form an almost living corridor along the route, betraying some magic and mystery to the forest.
So my skating lasted more than 2 hours during which I was able to cover a fairly long distance. I left the forest at 17:45 when it was already getting dark and the city was getting ready for sunset.
Well, it was quite a long and productive day. I hope soon I will be able to get out into the forest again and go skiing again.
That's all for today!
Stay tuned! Yours @travoved!

I have never tried nordic/cross-country skiing, only downhill, and that not since before my 2007 accident and back injury. How would you rate it for stress on the lower back? Obviously there's less risk in taking a spill when you aren't flying down a slalom run.
In my opinion first of all before any activity you need to warm up. The second point that if you skiing first time on some rout you can never know before which stress rate is waiting for you coz maybe it can be some slopes and ravines. By the way maybe tomorrow I can get to another one place for skiing. Finally if to talk in general I think yes in cross-country skiing it's more safely than in slalom.
